Okay okay so while we wait for tomm's game

So according to all you folks last weeks game was a complete disaster. IMO it was a rusty offense going up against an extremely fast defense. Keep in mind last year we went 0-2 and continued on to win the division. My main point of this thread is to stop freaking out about everything. The Dolphins are not going to lay down and act like they're given anything with Sparano as head coach. I'm excited to watch the game tomm you should be too. I know everyone's entitled to their own opinion and I'm not telling you to stop voicing it but is it necessary to be sooooooooooooo pessimistic about this young budding team? Be excited IT'S GAMEDAY!

Kepp in mind we went 0-2 last yr, but last yr schedule had 2 playoff teams and they both destroyed us.

true we did that last year.. but were playing a very hard schedule this year and will be hard to go down 0-2 a make it to playoffs :foundout:

Why was the offense "rusty" and why was their defense playing like a defense eight weeks into the season? Someone help me out with this...hmmmm.

Seems to me that we were beaten by a better overall team. Matchup the Falcons against the Dolphins player to player and tell me what result you expect. Coach for coach was even correct? Wasn't there a big debate about Smith v. Sporano for coach of the year? So if that's pretty even where did it all go wrong? It went wrong with talent. Matt Ryan is a MUCH better QB than Chad Pennington. And in this league, that's a HUGE equalizer.

One thing that is pleasant to see this week as compared to the previous week, is most of the fans here have came down to earth... Before the season started, everyone was talkin smack about how good we are and how good we will be...

This week it toned down quite a bit as well as it should be.. We are an ok team, not great and not crappy.. we're right in the middle... did the easy schedule last year help us win the division? yeah.. probably... But does that mean we will win the division this year?? probably not.. Thats what makes football such a great sport.. any team can beat any team on any given Sunday..

But wait, according to most the schedule doesn't matter at all. Playing Oakland is the same as playing Pittsburgh.

The problem that most people have is that they can't leave last year in last year. Too much of THIS year is reliant on LAST season in the mind of most.

1 game does not make a team but 1 game can make all Dolphins fans revert to their 1-15 shell. Be proud be loud. I know we had a weak schedule last year but who cares we can still win the division and go further.

What does the Falcons drafting Ryan last season matter? Where are you going with that? I'm talking team wise. What the team accomplished LAST season won't matter THIS season. Hell, the head coach will be the first to tell his team that.

What I'm saying is don't let your eyes or the pessimism on this board fool you. I'm a Dolphin fan and the NFL is the only sport I actually enjoy so maybe I'm a little too optimistic about my one and only favorite team. But you know I'm still dreaming about a hometown Superbowl. Don't get down on the team from one week of action. This team is going to play well down the stretch as do all Parcell's instilled regimens do. So let's hold off on judging the whole team from one week's performance.

I was down on this team before week one lol. I didn't need to see a poor performance to know that this team will not equal what they accomplished last season record wise. We're headed in the right direction and as I have said MANY times over the summer, at the end of the season we will be a better team and an improved team but our record will not be indicitative of that improvement. And that's ok. I'd much rather be headed in the right direction as an 8 - 8 team as opposed to an overachieving 10 - 6 team who got a couple of lucky bounces. This season, we're an 8 - 8 team. It is what it is. But everyone is still blinded by the achievements of last season and their expectations for this season are ridiculous.
