NFL | G. Adams admits to marijuana use

Nolan Nawrocki, of <A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/199">ProFootballWeekly.com, reports Clemson DE Gaines Adams admitted during his NFL Combine interview that he has used marijuana, according to multiple sources who have watched the interview. " It should scare (teams), especially when you see how laid-back (Adams) is in his play," said one team official. "No one disputes the great physical ability. What is disputed is how passionate he is and how physical he is. Physically, from an athletic standpoint, he has all the tools. He is the No. 1 pass rusher in the draft, and I don't think many people would argue with that."

He admitted to trying it when he was a sophomore at Louisville. Calvin Johnson also admitted to trying it in college. So, think he'll fall out of the first round too?

ESPN reported it last night and also said most coaches/organizations prefer honesty to "perfect answers". It's believed the admission improved their repoire with teams instead of hurting it.

These guys are barely men and are being microscoped with anal probes. Of course you're going to find flaws, their human.

This is nothing really to worry about.

I never thought Amobi Okoye would be drafted in the Top 15 anyways. I had him sliding to the 20's.

is this really an issue? i didnt realize that america is taht much different than canada(which is where im from). here it is just known that everyone has done it at one point or another, and a large percentage do it all te time. its in the same class as alcohol here. if a cop finds it on u he will jsut take it and send ui on your way, probs to go smoke it himelf

Not everyone has done it at some point. I've never done it; never been tempted to try and never want to try.

Nice country you got there.

I think it's the norm for people to have tried marijuana in their lifetime - especially in college, I feel that people like Vertical Limit are the exception. I don't think it will have much of an effect on where they get taken, but it would be nice to have CJ fall to #9 :)

I have done it before.. not afraid to admit that..

I usally do it once every two weeks and find nothing wrong with it personally.. I usally do it to take a break and relax..

I do not think it makes me any less intelligent nor do I think it makes me "laid back".. I lift 3 days a week for 4-5hrs and every other day I pratice for baseball..

Anyhow, I do feel that there is a problem with people who become reliant upon one certain drug, as a few of my friends have and somone we all know very well has in the past (RW)..

As long as Adams, Okoye, or Johnson have not become reliant upon marijuanna usage, I forsee no problems with their draft status or their ability to stop using it and having sucess in the NFL..

yes it is a great country, so is yours, i dont see how a country is bad b/c most people at least try marijuana at some point in their life. some people drink alcohol also, which messes you up more than marijuana.

"If they only had real football it would be perfect....oh and warmer weather."

if i want to watch "real football" i just have to turn on the tv. im sure i can watch any game on tv that you can. and i love the weather where i live. its cold in the winter, and in the 80's and sometimes 90's in the sumer. get all seasons, just how i like it. i actually think i live further south than windycitydolfan.

agreed, although i see no problem with people smoking weed, if it is forbidden by your employer i beleivbe they have the right to suspend you. so as long as they dont do it in the nfl, i see no probs with them having tried it
