He is an older guy, who was marginal as a LT, but... if he came cheap, he could be a LT or LG for a year while a rookie learns. Or at least be a vet LG next to a rookie LT.
We've got Satale at Center, Smiley at RG, and Carey at either LT/RT. I wonder if Mormino might be a starter at LG? The problem is a new guy next to a rookie LT. Bad combination.
If we could put Smiley at LG, then he could help a rookie LT, and we could also draft a rookie RG and put him next to Carey.
I don't know, it depends on how things shake out in the draft and maybe a surprise cut or two after June 1st. In any event, I hope the OL is settled and practicing as a unit quickly. Then they have a chance to get comfortable working together.
