OL is the fulcrum

With all I've seen, heard and read, I think the success of this season is going to come down to one thing; the play of the offensive line. Yeah, it takes all pistons, I know. But if you had just one wish for these Dolphins, wouldn't it be to field a dominating OL? With it, you get suitable holes for a good/excellent back to hit, which gets you a minimum of 4 yards a carry. With it you get time for your QB, even a mediocre one, to find a target and get into a rhythm. If we fail this year, it will be the OL's doing, and vice versa for success. Doesn't matter if RW and RB are super studs, if they don't have room to run, failure is inevitable (so cool your jets if they start having subpar performances). It doesn't matter if we had - insert super QB name here - under center, without time he'll throw picks, get sacked, and be off on throws due to being hurried.

So sit back and observe the OL, as it is the only true predictor of success. Until they show something, nothing else really matters, IMHO.

But do you agree that their success virtually guarantees overall sucess (not SB, just winning season; maybe 9-7)?

I agree. But I will say that our O-line is a little better than last year and the coaching is a little better. We have a better running game and better play calling. We have 2 running backs that can make something out of nothing.

Because of all that I think will will be improved from last year.

Guarantee is too strong of a word. But it does improve their chances drastically. But this is mainly because I see them as the weakest link in the offense. I think the RBs and WRs/TEs are solid and the QBs are good enough.

It always starts with the line(s); both offensive and defensive. If your O-line is bad the entire offense is going to struggle. Same with the defense. So yeah, I agree.

Best one two punch at running back in the league, above average defense, a very good recieving corps leaving the big question marks at O line and QB. If we have less than average QBing we will need superior line play. I'm not holding my breath but I'm sure hoping those guys can pull it together.

Maybe, but have you ever, and I mean ever, seen a bad NFL team that had a good line? Think about it. You never hear a play by play guy talking about a team and say "you know, the so-and-sos have a great line, but just can't get any Ws"...doesn't happen. I know it's cliche, but it really does start and end with the lines.

The Cardinals had a pretty decent o-line but really didn't seem to go anywhere. Look, I know what you are getting at and I agree, but if the o-line starts playing well then Gus or AJ could possibly stink up the joint bad enough to cause a couple of losses. I hope this won't be the cause, but you just don't know.
