i have noticed that many of you guys have us taking OLB's/tweener DE's in the first couple rounds in your mock drafts, and that is besides the people who want c long or gholston #1. was just wondering how pressing a need that really is given our present situation. if JT leaves, which is not very likely IMO, or if JP moves to the middle, which is unlikely and stupid - then i could see it as a pressing need. but with them there and 12 other OLB's/tweener DE's on our roster, i would be happy with us skipping that entirely.

ILB's, however, is another issue. many of you have us not taking a single ILB whatsoever. is torbor supposed to start in which case? seriously? the guy is a question mark at best. great st player and solid depth - but a starter in the 3-4? not so much. roth, while a longshot, is another possibility here. i mean, that is the only place he can fit in our future defense, right? if he doesn't make the switch, there is just no place for him here anymore. and i am not even counting those of you that want us to dump crowder for whatever we can get. as for that, i don't even want to dignify that with a response.

so, what about MLB next year? who do we want in the middle? who do we want to keep crowder company? given our depth at that position, in reality that should be one of the only positions besides o line that we draft more than once.

what do we think? i want beau bell from UNLV badly in the 4th round - but would take him in the 3rd if he is a high commodity. another guy i like is wheeler from GT - kid's got skills.

I say lets see what Crowder does next year behind a better D-Line. Maybe take a inside or MLB in the mid to later pics. OLB/DE types are one of the only positions that isn't completely screwed right now. That is why I don't want Chirs Long or Vernon Gholston. I must admit Gholston looks like a beast! I would like the Dolphins to get more depth at MLB/ILB but I think the more pressing needs are OL, WR, TE, DB. These need to be addressed early in the draft. The DL was a major weakness last year but I think the new FA tackles are a big help and they can also add depth here later in the draft.

a response. finally. thank you.

we obviously have more pressing needs. but who do you want starting next to crowder? we need someone better than torbor there i think.

Why do you think we need someone better than Torbor? Have you seen him play ILB before?

If we don't get our two long term starters at ILB/MLB this year, I hope we are in position to get James Laurainaitis or Rey Maualuga in next year's draft.

Impretty sure Roth is already penciled in at starting DE and Torbor and Crowder in the middle... Actually, I am more excited to see Torbor in the middle than Crowder. with Crowder, we already know he sucks in the middle, but Torbor is an unknown for us which IMO is more exciting. One of my friends is a huge Giants fan and when I asked him about Torbor he said he liked him and he was solid. From what I saw of him as well he looked solid in play. Hopefully if he stays at starter he will be productive...

I agree though, we definately have more prseeing needs than ILB, like corner and safety depth.. And I mean talented depth, just not a body to fill the roster.

I don't know much about Torbor. I am trusting Parcells here that he at least got a guy that can hold his own. As of now I think they go with Crowder/Torbor unless they pick up the next Zach Thomas in the 5th round:) If Torbor sucks than uh umm, guess it will be one more hole to fill:(

word. it seems torbor at ILB is the wanted option. i really want bell though - and have torbor as a backup.

yup. bell is the next thomas - but it will be a 3rd or 4th rd choice.

no i haven't, and that might be the problem. if you guys really think that he is our ILB of the future then so be it. need to grab a few more 'maybes' just in case.

sorry it took me so long to respond, but work got nuts.

who? Beau Bell... I forget his name and dont really know anything about him.. That Laurengitis kid (the road warriors son) would be cool. Just because he's the road warriors son

beau bell. hell yes. dude will wreak havoc on the field. got a mean streak like no other. love how he plays.

laurinitis would be great - if he was coming out. the crop of MLB next year is way better than this year - figures.

i don't think he does. i watched about half of his games last year just to watch him play - because who cares about UNLV. the guy just wanted to hurt people - he hits so hard. i haven't seen as hard a hitter since my boy steve atwater. if he drops to the 4th round we just can't pass him up, but i would grab him in the 3rd just in case.
