Old scouting report for Sage

I didn't know he was a 'scrambler' of sorts. I guess he's worked on staying in the pocket more like that assessment said he needed to improve on.

"If you had a gun, put it to my head and you say, 'I'm going to shoot you if you don't tell me,' I probably would tell you," Saban said. "But absent the gun, I just said what I am going to say, because if I tell you I tell everybody."
i love that line

Hmm, yeah he rejoined practice on a limited basis but that doesn't change anything from my point of view. Whoever wrote that it was an indication that he is likely to start against Cleveland was talking out they butt. The guy who practices plays, IMO. The question at this point is whether or not Gus has practiced enough and is in condition enough to serve as the primary backup. That's a common maneuver.

Yup, i would not be surprised if Sage gets the start after all.

if anyone ever says Saban is like Wrongstedt, they dont know what they are missing.

Well at least it had more positives than negatives.... What worries me though is some of the negatives sound very familar:

Negatives... Tends to lock onto his primary receivers too much... (Frerotte?)

Looks to run when the pocket collapses, rather that throwing the ball out of bounds to prevent a turnover...(Fiedler?, Feeley?)

Little inconsistent with his accuracy, especially when throwing the long ball... (Frerotte again?)

Has to improve his field judgement, as he gets into a rhythm where he will force the ball into traffic... (most of our QBs for the last 4 years?)
