OLine and DLine Ranking

http://footballoutsiders.com/stats/ol
Oline(pass-blocking): 22 sacks allowed, rank 12
Oline(run-blocking): 4.14 YPC, rank 15

LT(Long): 4.58 YPC, ranked #17
LG(Smiley): 3.96 YPC, ranked #18
C(Satele): 4.10 YPC, ranked #19
RG(Mix): 4.43 YPC, ranked #11
RT(Carey): 4.53 YPC, ranked #10

We tend to run right more often then left(by a few percent). Looks like our tackles are the strength of the line.

***********
Dline(pass): 38 sacks - ranked 13
Dline(run): 3.86 YPC - ranked 12

Roth - 2.54 YPC, rank 2
Holliday - 3.94 YPC, rank 10
Ferguson - 4.33 YPC, rank 19
Langford - 4.45 YPC, rank 24
Porter - 2.57 YPC, rank 5

Most runs are up the middle, very few runs are to the outside towards roth(4%) or porter(5%)

Last year's comparison:

Oline(2007), run-blocking - 4.22 YPC, rank 22
Oline(2007), pass-blocking - 42 sacks allowed, rank 20

LT(Carey): 3.86 YPC, ranked #18
LG(Liewinski): 5.05 YPC, ranked #4
C(Satele): 3.86 YPC, ranked #24
RG(Hadnot): 3.84 YPC, ranked #24
RT(forget): 4.63 YPC, ranked #7

We tended to run left more often then right by 11%.

Dline(2007),run: 4.58 YPC - ranked 31
Dline(2007),pass: 30 sacks - ranked 8

JT - 4.35, rank 20

Traylor-Wright - 4.26 YPC, rank 21
Wright/Holliday - 5.33 YPC, rank 30
Roth/Porter - 5.54 YPC, rank 31

Both lines are playing better this year... the bigger difference is on defense, where sacks are up(from 30 to 38), and rushing YPC is down almost 1 YPC(from 4.58 to 3.86).

Not reflected in these stats is the qb play and the drop in turnovers.

yea the sacks are up by 8 b/c of porters tremendous year that he wont ever do again. take that away its the same crap, our D can put any pressure. thats why we need NEW lbers and a NT that can breakt eh pocket.

I agree, we need to address NT and OLB positions. We just dont have a great pass rush outside of Porter. You can't expect him to produce those numbers again next year.

exactly and ppl are so SATISFIED with roth and crowder.

esp crowder that will want at least 5 million.

GO HOME ppl go HOME loll

the site doesn't actually list the players, it just lists the direction of the runs. We rotate our DE's a lot, so to assume that these stats belong to those players seems wrong. While they start at LE and RE they flip, and rotate constantly throughout the game. I would like to see stats that are player specific though.

why are you trashing roth. Did you look at the stats. 2.5 yards per carry that's pretty good if you ask me.
