It looks like after reading some early reports that we may have a decent line and the potential for a very good line considering they are pretty young (Carey, James, Hadnot, and McDougal). Even DMac is pretty young. However I see a big problem at center. Is St. Clair being looked at for center? I heard Wade was playing there and might be an option but that seems like alot to learn in a short amount of time. Center is pretty demanding so I dont see how he could pull that off. Anyone hear anyting about this position? We are screwed if Seth is our starting center.

yea im not too confident in Seth either but hopefully our O-line will shine with coaching like San Diego's last year.

I believe DMAC could regain his starting spot over Carey and either Wade Smith or St-Claire will beat out Seth Mckinney.

But besides that, our O-line is looking solid so far. The Center is really bothering me though

Wright, Carter, and Traylor owned Seth on the first day.

St. Clair could very well end up there, but if Wade can push Seth to some decency, we might be okay,,,but Seth got pushed back alot last year, either he doesn't have the strenght or his technique is just not happening. At center it's balance and angles . When it come to pass blocking it being a straight up man, handling your business, but he seems to get handled..either the use of his hands or arm strength isn't working.

I haven't heard if St. Clair is working at center at all. Anyone know who is slotted for center? I know its Seth and Wade but I haven't heard anyone else getting PT there.

I've heard nothing indicating that St. Clair has ever been tried at C in Miami.

After seeing Wade Smith trying to block defenders by waving his hands at them last year, I'm not convinced he could get the job done either. Not a Seth Fan, not a Wade fan, and I know nothing of St. Clair/ I'm still worried about the entire line, not just center

The difference is, Wade Smith is not suited to play left tackle. He is not very good in space, but when lined up next to someone he's not bad.

He does, however, have tools to succeed at center. At center, you don't have to be the strongest guy in the world in the upper body. Wade Smith is not.

But, you do have to have quick feet and leg power, which Smith possesses both of those.

The thing with Smith would be: is he able to make all the line calls and read defenses? I say he can't be any worse than McKinney.

By early reports, Smith has done well at center so far in camp. I have a feeling he just might win that job.

I hope your right, nut I'm still not convinced, and I won't be untill I see the qb get at least 3 seconds to throw the ball consistently.

Yeah, but you basing that on last year's line. Our tackles were horrendous.

Wade Smith had nothing to do with that, he didn't play.
He's not good as a tackle, but he does have what it takes at center. Otherwise, Houck would not have moved him there.

hey dolphin fans how is it going? i am also worried about our oline and if seth mckinney and wade smith are both from Texas A &M it is possible that they are bust because three years ago Texas A & M had a overated oline and thats why i would loved to have drafted two of ou 's olinemen . I belive that the dline will be just fine but I am not too sure about the oline and qb situation and it may take a little longer than what people are saying for nick to get enough good players to make the kind of difference that we all crave.

biggest thing im liking so far from the reports is the fact that our line isnt taking no sht.
