Don't agree at all.
I can remember J TAYLOR and T ARMSTRONG each having huge years at their DE position, and ZACK having a big year at MLB, because MIAMI had 2 big DTs who were good at penetration and QB pressure. D GARDNER and T BOWENS were BIG, STRONG DTs who could run-stuff, keep all blockers off of ZACK, and flush the pocket w/regularity. They even got some sacks! Any QB who had to leave the pocket was living dangerously...and that happened a lot.
Today, we have SOLIAI who didn't get a lot of "pressures" on the QB in the 3-4. But NOW, it's 3-vs-2 in the interior line play, and I see SOLIAI as enjoying the odds a lot more w/a STARKS, or ODRICK, or even McDANIEL at DT w/him. Imagine, e.g., WAKE and ODRICK at DEs w/SOLIAI and STARKS inside...or even McDANIEL and SOLIAI inside. Who gets "double-teamed"? Everybody? If so, who prevents an OLB from waltzing in and destroying a QB? SOLIAI is fast for someone that size. I still remember the 1st play of our playoff game vs the RAVENS. SOLIAI split a double team by 2 very solid OLmen (a G and a certain C that a lot of us wanted MIAMI to go after in F/A), and hit a ceertain power Back 1/2 step after he got the handoff. Not only did he fumble: he woke up in the middle of next week. We lost that game, but NOT because of SOLIAI. And I can't think of many interior OLs that will excel against STARKS/SOLIAI, ODRICK/SOLIAI, or McDANIEL SOLIAI. And then, there's the DEs and WAKE, w/o even discussing our new players. WHO do you double-team? If the answer is WAKE, can you thrive w/having MIAMI's DTs "flush the pocket" a lot? I think not! And TOMMY Boy absolutely HATES that!
So, I MIGHT NOT take SOLIAI out on 3rd Down...at least not all of the time. Let our opponents worry a bit!!! I/m/o, we already have the players and depth to get it done.
