The game announcers were just saying D.J. Flucker was a mountain of a man and was a beast destined for multi pro bowl selections.

Almost on cue OV a 265 lb DE shove the 340+lb Flucker back on his butt and ran right over him to sack Rivers and force a punt rather than FG.

I found that amusing :chuckle:

Ov has had trouble setting the edge on run plays but his pass rush is much improved resulting in 5 and 1/2 sacks to date :up:
 
True...Vernon got Fluker..I think Fluker's feet slipped on that play...but,I'd take D.J. as our RT any day.
Still,great play by Vernon.
 
People are mad Jordan isn't playing as much but it's not like Vernon is playing bad. Like how they used those two and Wake at the same time last night.

He probably slipped but the timing was perfect. As usual when they build up someone or quote some stats it usually results in egg in the face for the announcer.

i think Kipper had us taking Flucker before we moved up for Dion. In hindsight with all our OL problems that would have been a good pick.
 
Fluker has great strength, but terrible balance. OV took advantage of Fluker trying to protect against the speed rush and gave him the bull rush.
Wish OV could get better against the run though.

Same thing happened last night as the announcers were talking up Fisher then he was badly beaten for a sack!
 
OV is playing really well and has a nice burst, he doesn't set the edge well yet, but hopefully that will come with added strength....
