Omar Kelly : O-Line needs to be rebuilt

even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally, even a broken clock is right twice a day.. and so on.

The Colombo-Carey side of this line is a joke. I would be surprised, except they automatically entrenched an underperforming cut player as a starter, and then relied heavily on the other player returning healthy after being injured. How could they have even expected a good outcome?

SO we need a left guard maybe Nate Gardner, Rick I at center, Pouncy at right guard with Carey and Murtha to duke it out at right tackle. I am just using the talend we have until we did bring someone in. But thats the line I would be using. Actually I would make Carey the reserve tackle while he lost some wieght and got that knee stronger. So that would leave us with Carey and Berger in reserves while we shop and upgrade for another guard/ center. IMO

Murtha to Rg? Carey back to RT? Or mabye Murtha to RT Columbo to RG?

Idk..Its getting frustrating tho..

I will say that when I watched the Tb and Falcons games their linebackers were attacking, litterally attacking the LOS..Chad Henne needs to get better at Play action cause teams just dont seem to respect it..I dont recall seeing very much play action this pre season with good reason..dont wanna get your starter killed..Hopefully that will change as the year progresses

I finally figured out what Super Hero Omar is. Captain Obvious!

In my opinion, regardless of our record, if this line doesn't end up being a top third in the league o-line, that should spell both coach and gm's walking papers. You have a head coach who's only resume is that he was an o-line specialist. They've spent lavishly, both in dollars and draft picks. They have a unit that consists of 3 first round draft picks. 3 first round draft picks! That's not counting the busts/whiffs on draft picks (John Jerry, etc) and free agents (Groves, etc) That's a big commitment to a very understandable strategy: have a mac-daddy line, and the rest of the offense becomes much easier. The thing is, you can't then have your o-line be your biggest concern going into the season. If anything, that should be by far the strongest unit on the team.

To use the Parcell's analogy, they were allowed to buy the groceries. They've spent as if they were buying filet mignon and lobster. So far we look like hamburger helper and sardines.
