If you guys have questions I'll try to get to them for you.

Best,

JS

Now that Feely's cut, what is the straight poop on Carpenter as a kicker? How would you characterize his strength/weakness profile? Does he have a big leg? How does he do on kickoffs in camp? Is Brandon Fields going to end up competing for kickoff duties like he did sometimes at Michigan State? I think Carpenter has generally been under-observed in the fervor over the QB position, and on those occasions when the camp bloggers have made observations about him, I think a lot of readers kind of glossed over it, again because they mostly want to read about the QBs.

Omar made a note about Matt Roth playing at OLB in his most recent blog. It said that Roth has been looking better, and better at the position and has been fairly effective in run support. Anyways, ask him if he thinks that Matt Roth may have finally found a home at the OLB position?

sedano, oye!

whats going on with the quarterbacks? McCown and Beck were both watching this morning's practice, they didn't take a single snap. Pennington, Henne? That's the depth chart?

Ronnie Brown update!

Defensive Secondary update!

please and thank you! listening to you now...

With Penny and Henne getting all the reps how is Beck and McCown taking not getting any reps. IS there a sense that one of them will be cut. McCown looked like his puppy died last night in the post practice interviews

How is the receiver's battle shaking up?--how has Wilford responded since having his sit-down with Sparano?

I noticed that too. I really kind of just felt for him by the end of that interview. He was putting off such a dejected vibe.

But nonetheless Omar said before, many have said before, I've said it before, but...the QB stuff might be taking up way too much of our focus.

Especially now that we know Penny will probably be our 16 game starter in 2008 unless he gets hurt. With that knowledge, what's the use in obsessing about the QB position as much anymore?

Does Beck have any trade value at this time? If not, what are the odds that we release him and keep McCown as the backup/third string?

Have Sporano andDon Shula had any contact yet? Has Shula been to any practices? Do you have any feel for how the coaches are evaluating Crowder?

In regards to Porter and Holiday both recognizing the huge youth movement going on with this team currently plus not being Parcells picked guys could they be dogging their current injuries a bit realizing that they probably do not have a long term future with this team outside of this year?

Can he sleep at night now that John Beck isnt getting any practice reps?

:) Just kidding.

I also thought Roth looked good on running downs at OLB. I think its probably more a case of Langford being a better option at end. I would like to know Omar's general observations the last two days, since Chad has been in the fold. I read somewhere practice just seems to run a lot smoother with Chad (Pennington) behind center. Agree/disagree? Has he really been THAT much better than the other three were? Because I think that if thats the case, and its his second day in the offense, it says something about John and Josh's development.

Truthfully I don't know if I trust WR commentary. The best questions are ones that are likely to be very factual and are just for some reason under reported on the blogs.

Like, who are our top special teams tacklers? Were any changes made to the STs coverage units based on the TB game? Has Brandon Fields tried his leg at any kickoffs? Has Joey Porter taken any reps at ROLB? Can someone ask Sparano to comment on that, since Porter played ROLB in Pittsburgh for a decade before moving to LOLB for the Fins last year (with semi-disastrous consequences)?

Has Tony Sparano made his *official* decision about whether he would play the 3-4 or 4-3 or something in-between yet? Remember, Tony said during the first week of TC that he would probably make that decision late in the second week of TC...well, the second week of TC came and went, and nobody thought to ask him during his press conferences. I know we can all just assume that he decided on the 3-4 but I'd at least like to hear it from the horse's mouth and hear him comment on it.
