I just read a pretty interesting and somewhat inspiring article about Khan and his background. Not gonna lie, prior to today I didn't know anything about the guy but he looks likes someone who could bring some energy and skill to the GM position in Miami. He also has been part of a franchise that knows how to win. 3 SB appearances and 2 rings doesn't hurt either. Here is a link to the article please share your thoughts.

It's a great story...read it yesterday but I only wish he had more of a scouting background.

We need someone who can evaluate college talent and project it to the next level. That isn't his line of expertise. No thanks

I guess part of the interview would delve on how his player personnel department would be structured and staffed

I'm sure all the GMs will be asked that. Just like potential head coaches are asked what kind of staff will they bring with them.

Not needed. We have Dawn for that.

Khan, Pittsburgh's point man on contract negotiations, is respected by agents as tough but fair.

My thoughts exactly. You can never add too many quality people. I'd replace Aponte with Khan in a minute. He's a far more affable, fan friendly, player friendly negotiator. Aponte is excellent at the cap side of her job but I don't like what her Parcellian attitude toward the press (and by extension, the fans) has done to the organization.

GM's run in different lifecycles than coaches. You are hopefully going to get the guy for the next decade. If Khan blows me away on interview I could easily look past the fact that he is not the ideal skill set. If we hire Khan then Aponte could become obsolete.

She could just as easily side into a role on the financial/non-football side of the house. Obviously, Ross likes her and she gets along with Philbin so no need in showing her the door. Just reassign roles within the organization to got the skill set.

La Canfora was on WQAM today and said Khan had started being involved in the scouting side recently and said he would be a "rock star" in Miami.

He is not a talent evaluator, He is a finance guy and we already have Dawn Aponte handling that I say pass and roll with Farmer like him the best the more I read about him
