Omar Predicts Wake Will Not Make Roster

What a confrontational thread title.

Omar did not predict Wake will not make the roster. He said Wake will be cut if he can't outperform Walden as a core player.
 
Did Armando write an article and sign it 'Omar Kelly'??

What a ridiculous statement. With the money we threw at Wake, no way in hell he doesn't make the roster.
 
Way to early to tell. I think wake will feel better when the pads go on. He has to be better than folsum.

What are you talking about man? He selects his predicted 53 man roster at the end of the article. In other words, thats his prediction!

Btw the fact that he think Ernest Wilford will make the roster is laughable.
 
Admittedly, the pads haven't gone on yet, so it's ridiculous to make predictions about a pass rusher....BUT, I am a bit unnerved about the lack of positive buzz about Wake.

It probably should also tell us something that the front office was ultimately not concerned about Jason Taylor as a "progress stoppper" for Wake's development.
 
I was not being confrontational, just everyone who likes Wake should read this.
 
I have to admit that I am a bit worried about not hearing comments like "wake has been a monster in OTAs" and such.

You've misread the article. He has Cameron Wake on the bubble, or as he calls it "in the cut zone" but he does not go as far as predicting he will be cut.

The depth chart at the end is just a depth chart. He predicts how many players will be kept at each position, but does not say which. The players highlighted are not cuts. They are players eligible for the practice squad IF they were to be cut.

Omar's gone about this wrongly, which isn't surprising. He's predicting how many players will be kept at each position before he even has an idea which players will make it or will not make it.

The coaches do it the other way around. They don't say, ok we can only have three tailbacks so give me your best three. If they have four tailbacks worthy of rostering and they can find some action for that fourth guy, they're not going to put him on waivers in favor of a sixth cornerback who sucks, just because they decided that they'll keep three tailbacks and six cornerbacks.
 
I'm sure that Tuna, Ireland, and Sporano are playing close attention to what writers are saying. They all love the media, and accept whatever they advise on the team.

Yeah, Wake is gone. I can't stop laughing.

You really, really can't be a monster at that position without pads on. It just can't happen. Joey Porter damn near had a DPOY season last year. He was a "monster" in the truest sense. Did we hear about him being a "monster" in mini camps? Do we hear about him schooling anyone or being a "monster" right now? No, not really. We don't hear anything about him whatsoever.

The main things we've heard about Wake are:

1. He beat Jake Long at least once

2. Channing Crowder says he's "strong as hell" and other people have chimed in similarly

3. Armando Salguero said he looked really fast (faster than DBs and WRs) on kick coverage drills
 
Honestly my opinion is this: I don't care who plays, as long as we win. If Wake is better than Porter, then he should start. If he's not, get him off the field.

Don't question my fanhood. Ive been a season ticket holder since 1999. I love the Fins. I'm just saying to all the Wake fans, Omar is predicting he may not make the roster. Not trying to call them out and say I'm right your wrong. Look at all my posts, I have never been a Wake hater. I just hope the best player plays.

The problem is Omar didn't say anything more than that he is on the bubble and may have to outplay Erik Walden in order to make the roster.

I personally wouldn't question your fanhood. Just your attention to detail.
