Omar: South Florida has some of the worst sports fans in the nation

Why should we continue to waste our hard earned money?

You must enjoy posting these stories so much. If you wanted to go the game so bad, move down here and do it. Stop bashing the rest of us.

I will watch at home for FREE now.

Give me a break dude. The Heat didn't even sellout their home game for the opening of the big 3! They were still selling tickets at the gates! Thats how big of a sports town Miami is..The Cavs sold out and they knew they were gonna one of the worst teams in the league without Lebron!

you guys all bash omar. he does a great job. I follow a lot of other beat writers you aren't putting half the time or effort in omar is. You guys expect a writer to kiss our *** because he writes for our team is funny he tells it how it is. Our Fo are fool for signing Marc is looks horrible, and its pathetic that I am a die hard dolphins fan and would love the chance to go to MNF. Its pathetic we can not sell out our own stadium to our own fans for the home opener and for MNF opener I am sick of this fan base.

:sidelol:

As a fanatic, I can say I go to the games (not every game) and sit there watching what we have been watching the past coupke of years and regreting sometimes going. It's hard to enjoy yourself when you are trying to yell, scream and get hype only to be disappointed 9x out of 10. It's rough. Winning/excitement solves it all.

I went to two last year...the Sunday night Jets game and the Browns game. The Jets game was good even though we lost, but the Browns game was just a total abortion. i was actually sorry I went to that game. Just totally God awful. Games like that linger in people's minds, especially when it happens on a regular basis. We went 1-7 at home last year. Seriously. Thats just sad. Nobody is going to fork over money for that. Matter of fact, we always suck at home lately. And then the fans are somehow wrong for not showing up? Get real. Play with sense at home and then maybe people will come out. Put an exciting product on the field. Get a real offense.

wahhhhhhhhhhh

Why are you people so angry anyway?

Just watch the damn games.

What was the difference in ticket prices?

I went to all 8 home games...

God those car rides home were terrible...

That Browns game was pretty damn bad haha.

No more spending money on any dolphins related material...til they decide to have a real team play every week.

sorry to disappoint but I am not omar but with the way most of you post I like to see how you would do if you had omars job probably give me daily laughs at least

Id probably suck as a beat writer...which is why I dont beat write. Omar should take a page out my book IMO.

I wouldnt go as far as to say I wont but anything Dolphins. Hell, Ill probably break down and go to a few games even if we blow. But i cant hold it against someone who wont.

I consider myself an ardent Miami sports fan. In the 90's I had season tickets to both the Dolphins and Heat. Usually went to several Marlin games and the big UM ones. I don't live there now but still follow every move my teams make and root for all of them to win.
If I still lived there I doubt I would go to many games. As a matter of fact the last Fins game I went to I spent the majority of the game setting in a sports bar area at the stadium watching on a big screen.
The excitement at a game is unbelievable but If you really want to watch every play closely , rewind and rewatch the big plays again and again , see all the stats and hear what the analysis are saying setting at home in front of my sony 52 with bose surround sound and my computor near by is the way to go.

Blame technology . The best seat in the house is not on the 50 yard line or in a sky box. It's in your living room where the parkings free and the beer and snacks are free flowing and if the game's a blowout you can change the channel.

Funny, that this site uses Miami as its example. lol

Ah, now the fair weather fan comes out.

You must spend money to be a fan now?

You really aren't a conservative...You are upset that fans are engaging in capitalism.

It's all about the free market...We will only spend money on GOOD things. More and more people are learning about it in this downturn.

I'm happy since I get to see the games for FREE.

You are upset that I won't be spending $6k per year on 4 premium seats.

Right b/c moving to South Florida is as easy as snapping your fingers.

You watch it for free huh? Don't have a cable bill?

So I attended games last year for a decade and didn't have a cable bill during that period?

You angry out of towners are hilarious.

Keep on trying.

I'm enjoying the $6k in the bank that is freed up and not going towards the Dolphins.

What's next? The bag of chips from Publix costs money too?

Funny, every home game I've been to, we've lost. I always feel like I wasted time and money afterwards. Sorry but what was George W's saying?

"Fool me once... shame.. on... you? And you fooled me can't get fooled again"
