I hearing big things about this tackle out of louisville. I dont know if he fits our system well. But if this guy is Warren Sapp like, are you willing to change our defense around him to fit his talents better?

Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville

Scouting Report

"A rare prospect who will only be a 20-year-old rookie despite having four years of Division I playing experience, Okoye can both collapse the pocket as well as hold his ground versus the run and the scary part is that he still has a ton of upside and potential."

There would be no need to change the defense. He could play DT in the 4-3 and DE in the 3-4. Similar to the way Vonnie Holiday does now.

ehhhh he is a 3 techinique in the 4-3 but really I dont think he will be impressive in the 3-4

Whatever...if hes like Sapp, he could play LB and be successful. Warren Sapp was one of the best "football" players you'll ever see. He was recruited to UM as a TE. He could placekick, he could catch, he could sure as hell line up in the 4-3 and destroy people.

Omobi Okoye is the most intriguing player in this draft because he should be entering his junior season in college and hes already amongst the best players in college football. Wait until he's finished growing and gets conditioned by NFL teams. I think this guy is going to make some defense very good for years to come.

And I think he falls to right around the 9th or 10th pick. If hes there, you either trade down or pick him. Don't pick someone else with him on the board. He's the kind of player that can net you more picks if you don't want to pick him. Don't be silly like the Texans and draft a player you could have had anyway and walk away with additional picks.

After watching him in the Senior Bowl, I'm sold 100%. He's explosive and strong. I think he'll fit our defense without a problem. Another huge upside is his age. He'll have 2-3 years NFL experience while guys at that age will be coming out of college.

I know it may be a little off topic but to caption that pic.....HAHAHAHAHA...not even going there!!!

:sidelol:

i would love to see us pick him up.

I think he would be a beast with experience and all. Look at his massive potential. He did a good job in the Sr. bowl too. Great upside in this kid!

Okoye is only 6'2" 287. He doesn't have the size that we desire on the d-line.

His playing weight was 317. He hopes to play around that or 310 by the time the combine gets here. He lost weight due to traveling and all that from what some reports stated. He will be fine come draft time.

would much rather see this guy here than brady quinn.

I watched the senior bowl as well and he is def going to be a stud.

didn't they say jason taylor was undersized for the nfl, seems to me he turned out just fine now didn't he.

he would be a machine in the 4-3 D. Leave him at DT with roth and taylor at DE. thomas crowder and hopefully a stud FA like adalius at the other OLB.

that would be a scary front seven.
