"During four practices this week -- part of a series of offseason practices that are even less intense than minicamps -- Culpepper was able to drop back and throw some intermediary passes. He didn't run much. And he didn't throw deep.
But he did run. And he did throw."

''I think he knows the process now, the process he has to take to get back on the field,'' wide receiver Chris Chambers said. ``We've been running routes for him. His arm looks pretty good. He's not doing much running, but he's starting to move a little bit.''

the chambers quote worries me a little, "starting to move a little bit" I'm still confident C-Pep can quarterback this team, all we need from our QB this year whoever it is, is to not turn the ball over our defense will keep us in every game if we just limit mistakes

Thanks for the link. If only the coaches last year would followed this process to not evaluate Culpepper until he was 100 percent healthy. It's now up to Dr Andrews to clear Daunte for the next mini-camp in June.

I hope that Daunte does get better, that way we can get a higher pick when we trade him, or dump him with no injury payment.

Or we could see if he could play for us first.

We did that last year, remember? He can't. I think Cam was speaking more about Daunte than Ricky when he said he's not gonna let guys have fans put hope in them only to let them down.

You have to be kidding. He specifically said it was players not on the roster, it was clearly about Ricky.

So, Cam response was mostly about Daunte, even though the question was about Ricky Williams? :err:

He was physically limited in his play last year...so many have stated that and even a blind person can see it...

Dolphins place Culpepper on IR - 12/13/2006

Daunte Culpepper's first season with the Miami Dolphins is officially over. The Dolphins put Culpepper on injured reserve Tuesday, ruling out any chance of the quarterback returning from knee problems that kept him sidelined for much of his first season in Miami. "

"Culpepper started the first four games of the season for the Dolphins, completing 60 percent of his passes and throwing for 929 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. He underwent major knee surgery in November 2005 and returned to the field more quickly than expected, but with his mobility hampered, he was sacked 21 times.

Culpepper -- whom the Dolphins acquired in March from the Minnesota Vikings for a second-round draft pick -- also underwent arthroscopic surgery last month to remove a piece of cartilage in his knee.

Just the fact that we have thrown more picks then TD's is amazing. It brings back nightmares of what has haunted this team, seeing those stats.

:shakeno:

Culpeppers Knee is the whole Dilemma. It played on him last season, he couldnt move in the pocket let alone run. It played on him mentally which was obvious. Its not his arm strength thats the problem. Right now i want Green. I feel for Culpepper because the guy is showing true grit in trying to get back but Cam will put the team first and not the player (i.e Ricky Williams). Theres talk of Culpep wont fit the system and his knee is shot etc etc etc but right now we need a QB. Not a maybe or a question mark. If our Offense is going to work it needs stabilty at QB and right now we are in a mess. If Green comes in fit, ready to go for one season with Beck/Lemon ready to come in then i would be alot happier. If Daunte Culpepper make it back i will be seriously suprised. If he does though, expect him to be traded. Sad but expected.

This is a serious case of deja vu. We have all seen this before. He puts on the helmet throws a few passes and still can't move.

They are showcasing the little that he can do in the hopes that someone will trade for him before we release him. Nothing new.

1) He has always been physically limited. When you dont have the physical skills to actually play the position then that is limited.

2) An injury didnt keep him sidelined. Nick Saban kept him sidelined. Nick kept him sidelined because of Dauntes play. Nick kept him sidelined because he wanted to actually try and score points. He wanted to score points because he wanted to win. Nick wanted to win because everyone wants to win.

3) His mobility didnt get him sacked 21 times. His innability to make a decision and throw the ball did. 21 sacks in 4 games was not far over Dumbtes average for his career.

4) Of course he needed cartilage removed. What does that have to do with his play for us? Neither surgury had anything to do with that ridiculous and almost as poor performance he displayed in his last season with Minnesota.
