Whats up everyone who remembers me?

Today on the daily radio show on ESPN "The Sports Bash" the guest host went off on a rant about RW. Saying he can't play because he obviously lost his ambition to play, and that this will blow up in the Dolphins face, and will be a distraction all year long.

I haven't decided if personally I can accept Ricky back, but I couldn't disagree with the guy from ESPN radio anymore than I do. First off I think Saban is smarter than that, and deserves the benifit of doubt that he won't let this escalate to that. 2nd I think alot of stuff is being overlooked by the media regaurding Ricky's retirement. I am not making excuses for him, but there are a few things you can't ignore. He has social anxiety disorder. You can't underestimate that when it was about to come public that he failed a drug test. He would have taken alot of heat, and I honestly don't think he is strong enough mentally to deal with that. I also think how much punishment he took under Dave's regime is being downplayed. No one has ever had more carries in 2 year span. He had a seperated shoulder through out his 2 seasons in Miami, and with the team they had last year he would have sceen another 350 carries. With the life of a RB being so short, and the fact that his contract was a joke I would side with Ricky on this fact.

The talking heads at ESPN have always had it in for Miami! We will all be able to laugh at them when they need to eat CROW on that one. It sounds like RW is looking awsome in camp and the vets' on the team (alot of them) are happy to have him back. They like the work ethic he is showing and the talent he is showing. RW will grind the talking heads into the ground and laaugh as they will then rave at the performance he put's on. While still bringing up his abrupt retirement all year long to ease the sluge marks in their faces.

Run Ricky Run!!!!!!

I think its funny how all of these people keep popping up and bashing Miami for bringing Ricky back. It is the easy thing to say for them and obviously they decided not to do any research or real thought on the matter. I was never in favor for bringing him back, but after getting over the anger of him leaving, listening to what he has said, listening to what others have said about him, and his performance, you can't knock the situation. At least not yet. So far he has done all the right things and I, just like it seems the players are, ready to give the guy a second chance. People make mistakes, and if he comes back and gives it his all, then I will forgive him. The fact remains that when 100% he is one of the top backs in football. Another fact is that he doesnt do anything to help the Dolphins if he is retired. If he plays he can only bring positives that could end up giving us one of the best RB combo's in football or a draft pick in return. So maybe these morons who keep spouting off about this should take a moment and think about the situation before commenting about it.

Whats going on Sufer. I was curious if any of the old cats were still around. I have been very busy with work, and I started training again in mixed martial arts. The Dolphins play this Monday, so I am back.

One thing that helps me forgive RW is he helped finally end the terror that was the Dave Wanstedt era. Yes we had to suffer through a bad season, but this team has taken more steps forward in a few months with out Dave then they did his entire tenure. Viva La Nick!

Seriously I have sufferd through a few anxiety attacks in my life, and know the hell of RWs disorder. I don't take meds for it, and haven't had one in awhile much like Ricky, but also know that the fear of having one again never leaves your mind. I still won't go anywhere that I don't drive. Just incase it rears its ugly head again, and I need to run away. Run away is the only thing you can do when this disorder attacks. Much like Ricky did when he went to India, Cali, and where ever else he went last year.

What''s Up Dejesus, good to read ya again.

Welcome back Dejesus lord of the idiots, or was it fools?. :D

Hey Dajesus, hope all is well. Good to see that you are posting again.

long time..no see. what's up? kinda feel the same way you do here. haven't really forgiven him his "sins" against the team. but what he did did start the process for removing the bigest cancer this team has ever had. i just wish it had played out a little differently to the public. i agree that there is more to the situation than most see.

Hey that's okay, just add this joker's name to the list of Dolphin haters. Let them feel what they want, no big deal.

Welcome back dude...

Good thoughts here, but the reason why it won't escalate into a public show is just what you mentioned...RW doesn't want/can't handle the public side of things, Saban is known for keeping a lid on most things inhouse, so it's really a perfect fit for RW...

As to his supposed "plethera of carries" defense, I totally dissagree..that really had nothing to do with RW leaving...that was a smoke-screen RW threw out at the press...Besides, that won't, by all accounts of Linehan's history, be an issue...at best, he'll split carries with Brown and probably other RBs in our stable..

and as far as his contract goes, hundreds of players deal with bad contracts without "retiring"...that also is a smoke-screen...

I really don't (and I don't think RW does either) know why he spaced out on the Fins, I believe that the combination of his illness and the mary-juanna had much to do with it, but that is IMHO...But quitting WHEN he did is why I'll never have any trust in him again...If he rushes for 1500 yds this year, I'll always remember he is one yard away from quitting again.

The fact is, that it is the best thing for the Fins organization was to have RW back playing again...I think we all agree that an 80% RW is better than anyone we had on the roster last year. We paid a steep price for his services (at least two #1 picks), salary, etc. While he played well for us, we had to recoup some of the lost value we suffered when he left. That value might be trade next offseason or it might be RW staying on to split carries with Brown for 2 more years, but Saban did the right thing by the organization.

I also believe that if this turns into a circus again, it'll be strictly because RW let it...whether that be by "losing" his control again over the weed and getting caught, or by taking another walkabout or whatever...It'll be ALL Ricky's doings.

Good to see you back bro. :)

It's risky, sure. But when this thing works out and Ricky shows off this season, these people will be forced to acknowledge it.

Hail Dolphin Lord and Savior. Good to see you!

I think a solid performance by RW on Monday will shut a lot of people up. Not all; but a lot.

Welcome back. Some of us old timers are still hanging around here.

I love how everyone thinks that Ricky's talent just evaporated into the skies over India. He has looked good in camp and will be a good back for us this year. Depending on what Ronnie Brown delivers will dictate if Ricky gets traded. I completely trust Saban to know what to do.

Good to see you back.

PS
I think it's curious that you disappeared about the same time as Ricky did and then came back abot the same time...are you really Ricky Williams?
