Matt Moore is not a teacher so play Tannehide.If it was the situation where Farve was showing Rodgers the ropes ok but Moore isnt even in the same Galaxy as Favre is.

Favre never showed Rodgers the ropes. Favre said it wasn't his job to mentor Rodgers.
If Rodgers learned anything from Favre, it came from Aaron observing how Brett prepared himself for each game.

I would love it if he out played them in the preseason but the problem IMO is that its preseason. No one will be going at him full speed until game one of the regular season. I have to defer to the coaches on this one.

i am leaning towards sitting him. Moore may not be known as a good "practice" player, but he has experience and led us to a strong 2nd half last season. Garrard has QCO expereince and Tannehill resembles him more talent-wise. I believe Tanne will have to blow them out of the water in order to be the starter, i dont see them rushing him one bit. Now, if Sparano were still in town, i couls see the rush and panic. We'll let this one develop with time.

Why? Sparano didn't rush Henne so why would you think he would rush Tannehill?
david could very well be this years chad pennington, but I don't think sparano/henne/pennington is the same as philbin/moore/tannehill/garrard.

Sparano year 4/5(?) would be on the hot seat. Philbin has began to restore the fan base as much as he can this offseason. Sparano had everything falling down around him and would be more inclined to start that new franchise QB with the immense pressure the fan base would put on him to right the ship and take that next step

I wouldn't let Farve coach little league. Brett would be the worse POSSIBLE teacher. Brett was a great QB but what made him great was the way he could throw the ball into coverage and STILL complete it, or make great plays after the play broke down. He was horrible at throwing into double and triple coverage, often misread defenses and was easily fooled. Those are NOT qualities I won't him teaching a young QB. Add to that he was such a "me first" type player, he would be more concerned about how HE looked than he would be about getting the most out of his student. Moore or DG either one would be much better at teaching a young Tannehill than Brett, IMO.
If this competition is at all close Moore should be traded and the Dolphins should look to a future with Tannehill and whoever they can sign for cheap next year; or, if a quality guy slides into the 6th or 7th round next year.

I didn't vote because your fundamental assumption is wrong IMO. Moore proved he's at least a competent NFL QB in 2011. Garrard had been a starter for several years. Now, maybe Garrard's not any good any more, but Moore was pretty decent last season, especially after he established himself. There is no way any rookie is really going to look better than a competent veteran QB unless the coaching staff sets it up so that the rookie gets starter reps and the vet gets virtually none. This goes double for a rookie as inexperienced as Tannehill.
Furthermore, most teams play "vanilla" offenses and defenses during preseason because they are looking at players not at perfecting plays, so it's entirely possible that a rookie could look a whole lot better than he really is to start. Once the games count for real, then the defense brings all its stunts and disguises. No rookie can read NFL defenses out of the gate. He just can't.
If the Miami coaching staff decides they are going to start Tannehill on opening day, then they should simply dispense with the pretense of competition and just name him the starter. I think that would be a big mistake, but it would be better for team morale than having a rigged competitiion. It would also be better because then Tannehill would get starter reps with the first unit from the beginning, something he will desperately need if he's named the started for Game 1.

I Don't care how many years Tannehil Sits. The longer he sits the more of an impact he'll have when he gets into the game.
