On What team did Groh coach last and why did he leave?

He was the HC at UVA.

You probably just thought he sucked because you watch too much Around the Horn and read too much stuff around this place.

Al Groh is a great defensive mind. He was a decent HC in the league as well. Better than Sparano, thats for sure. But, then again outside of Scam Cameron, who isnt.
 
He coached the Jets for a year in 2000.

Evidently, Parells groomed Groh (Then his DC), to become the new Jets head coach when he left.

For some reason, Groh resigned after one year to return to his alma mater Virginia, where coached for nine seasons, and was fired this past year.

He and Pareclls have alot of history dating back to Navy (I believe), in the 1960's.

he left cause a lot of his players in NY went over his head to Tuna.

But in all seriousness, you'd never hear about someone as irrelevant as Al Groh on Around the Horn lol.
 
Keep an open mind about him if you haven't been able to judge for yourself you shouldn't just think he sucks cause of what other people say. IF they do hire him hell he may do great things for miami's D and thats all I care about. I dont care if he burnt uva to the ground as long as we have a good d here.

But WV said he is great so it must be true .... LMFAO. He is good Lb coach and a below average DC. WV loves attention for saying pretty silly things. Al Grohn is NOT head coach material. I dont know if Sparano is, but he had a better 1st season in NFL than Grohn did and thats a start.

I agree he is a good LB coach but I don't want the guy as our DC.

I generally don't agree with anything WV says either but hey I guess you can't see eye to eye with everyone on an opinion forum.
 
Let's just say this. As a Virginia Tech fan, I was sad when Virginia fired him. I thoroughly enjoyed dominating the teams he coached every year.

I'm not crazy about the idea of bringing him in as DC.
 
If we promote Bowles to DC and make Groh LB coach probably would be the ideal situation. However, at least we will not have to suffer through Pasq anymore even though some it isint his fault.
 
Al Groh was picked by Parcells to coach the Jets after Belichicken quit on the first day. He coached the Jets to the playoff in 2000 and lost in the first round, resigning after one year to be HC in University of Virginia.

Yes, He was the coach on Monday Night Miracle.

Peronsally, I'd perfect Romeo Crennel as DC.
