Well since it's the offseason, it seems like the teams left in the playoffs are playing pretty stellar defense, if we could have one free agent claimed on defense who would it be and why? I'd have to say if Terrell Suggs is healthy bring him in. We don't play the Ravens twice a year, but I think he would be a tremendous addition, and maybe if we meet them in the playoffs he can help us figure their defense out.

Are you sure? Lots of people here were shedding big crocodile tears after he was mean to Ronnie Brown, and, calling him a dirty thug.

Of course I'm sure all will be forgiven if he's OUR dirty thug :)

i would go for the FS position, maybe atogwe?
Hill is gone IMHO, ( and i got no problem with no resigning Hill, his tackling hurts but, us not the other teams offense)

GB,there's no doubts in my mind that all will be forgiven if we brought Suggs to Miami and signed him...but doesn't he play the same position as Porter? WOLB...

Why do you think Hill will be gone? Especially after Sparano attributed the improve play of the secondary to Hill.

Peppers would fit our 3-4 system if he is used in Matt Roth's role at SOLB.

Would prefer going for a natural 3-4 OLB than converting a 4-3 DE, especially when Peppers is now 33. I think you can convert younger players but not someone like Peppers.

Many 3-4 OLBs are converted DEs and Parcells has a history of doing just that. He did it with Lawrence Taylor, Willie McGinest, Mike Vrabel and Demarcus Ware.

I know how old Peppers is and I was just answering your question about him not fitting the 3-4 system.

to many misstackles, to many blown coverages. I agree he got better to the end of the season. and I agree with Sparano, but that was 08.
I just think we could have way better options at FS.

Matt Roth did it last year. But that was my reasoning behind why Peppers would'nt fit the system. If he cant be converted and at 33 it would be unwise to even try, then he wont fit.

That's the problem...there won't be a better option going into the 2009 season than Hill. It his highly unlikely that a drafted rookie will be the starter on opening day because there is so much to learn and probably won't have the communication skills that Sparano likes about Hill.
