I hate to be a guy who finds the bad things in a good win, but how many times did the defensive line jump offsides on 3rd or 4th and short to keep a Bears drive alive? I mean defensive lineman are in a stance directly over the ball, can't they wait til it moves! We got lucky Rex and the rest of the Bears couldn't hold onto the ball.

Maybe they were just trying to be to aggresive after the media has hounded them for 7 weeks.

It was nice to see them play with some heart, like they should have done from week 1.

a few times I can think of. Hopefully it was bad nerves.

It wasn't just Miami who had a lot of offsides penalties Chicago had a lot too, that was the most I have ever seen two teams go offsides in one game. But the reason Miami went offsides was because Rex has a great hard count and the time they called them offsides on the punt return was bull because it was obvious the o-lineman was the only guy moving on the line of scrimmage.

Grossman was doing a good job with his voice inflection during his cadence. Joey was able to do it a couple of times too. You have to the QBs credit there.

Penalties have been a huge problem for us for the past two seasons. That, and 3rd down conversions.

When its fourth and less then five for the first down an offsides penalty is a real backbreaker because it gives the other team a first down. I also couldnt understand how they could have done that. No reason to jump offside just let them punt the ball. It was a huge win but we have work to do,obviously.

Exactly. We were super aggressive and Rex was using his cadence to make us jump. Big deal. I'll take offsides all day long versus PI or defensive holding.

They are supposed to watch the ball not listen to cadence

the biggest problem I saw was at our quarterback play. until that position gets resolved we will never win consistantly.

notice thou....it was on both sides of the ball...the bears did it couple times too....everyone was just.....jumping

Absolutely right. We had 11 penalties in the game. Our pass offense was dismal despite good pass protection.

There were plenty of problems that we overcame. The key is that we were able to overcome them. That is the difference from previous games. We're going to have problems, you need to overcome them.

Right now I'm hearing the offsides penalties attributed to Grossman having a nice hard count. Maybe Huard does as well or maybe he doesn't.

But I'll say this. Against Chicago's offense, #1 and #1a goals were to pass rush the HECK out of Rex Grossman. As JT said, they knew that if they tattooed him early, he's not the same player. That kind of mentality leads to a lot more defensive offsides and early jumps than if your #1 goal is to stop the run. Against KC, I believe our #1 goal will be stopping the run.

it happened. good? no. BUT, the key here is that to a man, on the field, you could see that they were ALL saying with conviction "..just play through it!" and they did!!! no matter the f*up, or whom...they just played through...BIG DIFF from weeks prior.(imo)

it's going to have to be...good news is I like our chances against the run and if our secondary can step it up again...wow, could be a great win at home

I don't know who gave you 1 star for this. It is a good discussion. I give you 4 stars to balance it out.
I would like to say that they were certainly playing with intensity and I gave them the benefit of the doubt on all but the last penalty.
gogo Dolphins!
