One GM says.....

well that gm must be related to spielman because there is no way that happens.

I'd be shocked if we could trade him by week 1. Can you even trade a player who's on suspension? Personally, I think the plan is to play Williams this year and recoup some of his value, and move him next offseason for a 3rd or 4th round pick.

i don't beleive anything that is written in the post or daily news. The papers are produce to entertain people not provide anything informative. They are more like the papers in london i.e. tabloidish.:(

Bingo we have the winner....this is exactly what will happen. I'd bet my house on it.

:yeahthat:

I don't think we move him this year, but if he looks sharp in the pre-season don't be shocked to hear the Eagles knocking on our door.

Just now they're talking about TO being traded on ESPN. I wouldn't object trading Ricky to the Eagles whether it's for pick(s) or TO.. I just don't want him in the same conference as us. IMO though I don't see him being traded this season.

I'm not sure the Eagles would be a good home for his services. They seem to be counting on Correll Buckhalter to be the inside component to their running game, but they also drafted Ryan Moats in the 3rd round. So they probably won't be looking for another running back.

I don't buy any of that....

Saban has a plan for Ricky, and cutting him before the season starts, makes no sense to me. It would be considered nothing but a big waste of time. Saban doesn't waste his time, he takes advantage of it.....

PHINZ RULE!!!

I doubt that plan will work. RW is on record as saying he has two years left in him. So, who gives up a 3rd or 4th round pick for him knowing he will only play one season?

Plus, if he works out for us, why would we trade a productive player away if we know we wont get value for him?

This 'trade rw' talk is just more hating on RW. He IS a part of the team now, people need to deal with it. I believe he will be productive and will remain on the team. There is little logic to the trade RW talk, just as there was little logic from the people saying he shouldnt be allowed back.

The Eagles are in a win now mode and if they could get RW for a 3rd round pick I think they would do it with no problem. He could be the one piece that they need to wear down a team like the Patriots. He is also a cheap investment as he will be making near league minimum and won't hurt their salary cap. To be able to beat the Patriots you have to play boring control the clock footbal and wait for them to make mistakes and Ricky would help any team do that. As I said I don't think this trade will happen, but don't be suprised if it does.

Saban isn't going to go through the media circus that comes with Ricky just to get a mid to low draft pick for him. I totally expect Ricky to regain the starting job and play at least for 3-4 more years. The difference in this offensive system and the POS one that we attempted to run when Wany was here will allow Ricky and Ronnie to get equal carries. Now if Ricky starts to become a problem, then I think Nick will do something about it, but not until then. Just my humble opinion.

ronnie brown is unproven and to get the most for ricky he needs to prove he is still a good player. we will have him on the team for at least this year.
