Many thanks. I've heard that guy on the radio countless times while driving through that area but I've never read his scouting reports.
That station has amazing range. It must be a clear channel because I can pick it up for hundreds of miles in daylight and seemingly forever at night. I drive back and forth between Miami and Las Vegas at least twice per year. Quite a treat to listen to sports talk as opposed to the other themes that monopolize talk radio in the region, until I get to New Mexico and a bit of relief.
His summaries seem to tilt overly positive. The observation on Olivier Vernon's "hot and cold" motor is good but needs a bit more detail. Vernon is sometimes frustrated when he doesn't get a quick advantage on the tackle. He has an excellent opening burst and is accustomed to an edge after a few steps, not unlike a horse who always breaks first. When Vernon is stymied off the blocks during the pass rush and ends up in a hand fighting stalemate, he often disappoints for a few plays. I never thought it was taking plays off as much as befuddlement and brief lack of confidence.
