When it comes to who we sign in FA or who we let "get away." The FO is not only considering players in FA for this year but also for the next 3 years. Think about it, Miami will have key players hit FA in the next few years and I am sure the FO wants to keep themselves in position financially to be able to sign them. So...that means not overspending NOW to the point where it will kill us in the future.

The FO has a plan but they have to be responsible. I think they are doing a great job at this. If they commit every dollar of FA money this year then Miami will lose key guys in the future. Building a team the smart way, through the draft and only signing key FA's while not maxing the cap, is what the FO is doing and we all should be grateful we finanlly have leadership with a vision.

thank you for for pointing this out , for I am guilty of overlooking this point and I wasnt thinking about the long term and was wanting a quick fix.

do any of you guys find yourselves getting upset without looking at the big picture ?

I dont want Hainesworth but i would like grab surtain for a temperary 1 year deal and I wanted de Antiono Smith but oh well.

but you also have to look at the players that we will not have to pay in 3+ years cuz of their age.. vonnie holiday, jp, chad penny, akin a, wilford, jferg, j. smiley.. plus you need to look at the players that will be cut cuz of performance...

No doubt that is part of the equation as well. All of this is a factor in their decision process for the current FA and draft. Good point. My point is that you can't expect the FO to make all these FA signings because they have a plan to what they are doing.
