I've been gone for a while and while I wouldn't flatter myself to think that anyone missed me (or noticed I was gone), I feel some need to express my thoughts on the offseason moves so far. Here goes:

1. Porter.
I love this signing. We need as many playmakers as possible. Do we have bigger needs than weak-side LB? Yes. But having JT and Joey Porter rush the passer simultaneously makes me drool. I don't care how old he is or how much money we gave him. He'll be a stud for at least 3 more years, and then we'll cut him is he runs out of gas.

2. Welker
Gotta love the scrappy little dude, but you also gotta love a second round draft pick. Yes, its #60, but I'll take it.

3. McMike
I think I hated this guy...maybe that's the wrong word, but I didn't like Randy one bit. Hard to root for a wife-beater. None of us are saints, but this guy is a piece of work...and he dropped the ball too much. He made a lot of noise, had a lot of potential, but never took it to that other level on a consistent basis. Cam and Mueller got stones for cutting this guy. Bravo!

4. Mare
I think getting rid of him is a mistake only because of the touchbacks. They're just so valuable.

5. The moves we didn't make
I wish we could have upgraded the o-line, but the salaries that marginal linemen got in FA were absurd. Hopefully Hauck can make miracles.

6. Culpepper
I hope this guy is ready. If he can play at an above-average level, I like our chances. I really want this to work out. I think Pep is a good dude and deserves another shot.

7. Ricky
Please stay in Canada. Mark my words, if he puts on a Dolphin uniform again, another crazy thing will happen like another drug suspension or retirement.
He's burned me twice and I don't trust him.

8. Chambers
If we could trade this guy for a 2nd rounder, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

9 The draft:
BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE. That's the guy I want. We have so many needs (except for RB), I would not be upset if we drafted any position (except for RB).

10. Ronnie Brown
This is his year to show what he can do. I'm a hypocrate for making excuses for this guy and killing Chambers. 2007 is his year to shine. If he doesn't get it done this year, he never will.

Overall I'm happy about the post-Saban world. Go Dolphins!!!

Good post and I agree...Im fairly happy with the moves we've made my only change is that I really would like to have Ricky back...He and Ronnie did such a great job together two years ago I would love to see it again

I agree with you: they were excellent together.

However, I don't see a rRicky return ending well.

:sidelol: LOL

Sorry Bro, Can't help you

When will the Chambers bashing go AWAY:confused: :fire:

Honestly, without sarcasm, my criticsm of Chambers will end when he either:

(a) fights for the football; or

(b) catches a ball thrown below his waist.

He doesn't have to do either consistently. All I ask of him is to do one of these consistently, and he will be my favorite player (once again).

I totally agree with every point you made exept drafting a RB.

How can say no to Ricky and not want to draft a RB???

You do know that Minor,Morris and Barnes have all been signed by other teams, right?

And Ricky won't be going to Canada but he may be traded once he is reinstated.

I don't know if there is a team out there would want to pay Chambers the kind of money he is getting. I wish we could trade him too but with a draft replete with WR talent and his high salary I don't know if we could even get a fourth.

I should have been more specific: I don't want to draft a RB until the second day of the draft.

Ricky's reinstatement (is that a word?) is not a given. He is an unknown quantity in every sense of the word.
