One more reason to want Manning

This is beginning to remind me of the Daunte Culpepper offseason a few years back. Daunte obviously isn't Peyton but he was much younger at the time and the circumstances were similar as far as Miami finishing strong in 2005 and thinking they were a QB away. Hopefully we see similar results.

that's awesome, you are celebrating Colts championships where Peyton threw 3 TDs and 7 INTs in 4 postseason games now?

And has still accomplished more than the Jets. The real point of the pictures I posted is no matter what team Manning lands with, you dislike the guy regardless of his accomplishments. Same goes for his brother. Bottom line is your jealous no matter what excuse you throw out there.

I spak the truth, I think peyton is and always has been overrated. He's still an all time great but he only has 1 SB win b/c he has failed so often in January and the one SB he won he did so w/ a mediocre postseason.

I have nothing against eli other than the team he plays for, I just don't think he's elite but he is everything Peyton isn't and that is a clutch QB in January.

Lots of those January failures were hogg scoring shoot outs hard to blame him for that.

I am not worried at all, I'd rather he goes to Miami than comes to us. The average fan that gets wowed by big names will want peyton but to me the worst case is he makes you better for 2012, you make the playoffs and lose early. That doesn't bother me, if you build around a young QB you could have someone to torment us for a decade- that scares me.

Peyton at his peak and 100% healthy which much more talent around him than he'd have in Miami struggled to win in January- why would a guy headed to thre twilight of his career coming off major injury, playing in a new system for the first time in forvere be able to lead Miami(or the Jets) to a SB? You guys getting Peyton does not scare me in the least. It would be annoying w/ all the dolphins media coverage w/ Peyton but I can live w/ that.

You may be right, you may be wrong on Manning. However, this is a team that needs to take the risk. There is to much upside to the deal to not give it a go. However, as a Jets fan, one scenario that may make you worry a bit is if we do get Manning, then follow that up with getting Tannehill. No sure if it would happen, but I would like to see it happen. That kid is a little raw, but has a ton of potential. To let him sit and learn from Manning for 3 season would absolutely huge.

Worst case scenario is we have Moore under center next season, which in all seriousness Junc, I would take over Sanchez at this point. I might not have said that 2 seasons ago, but not so much now.

actually that's not true at all, in his 10 playoff losses he has led his high powered O's to an average of 14 PPG, he hasn't lost a shootout yet. the closest was a 28-24 loss at home to SD in 2007 but he threw 2 RZ INTs that prevented at least 6 pts in a 4 pt loss.

If he was losing the way Brees did to SF or the way Rodgers did to Ari a few years ago then I'd give him a pass but that's not the case.

Good post except for the last paragraph:chuckle:

No one has been more critical of Peyton then me, but last year showed how good he is! That was still the danger offense that was I'm the Superbowl less Manning. With missing on Here and White the Dolphins do have the players to win now, signing Manning ad you say makes that happen. The key to Miamj's long term future is developing his replacement while he its here.

I figured you would take issue with that sentence. I just think Sanchez's confidence is in the tank, and he knows that some people within the organization (administration and teamates) do not have faith in him, and the media in NY is more than ready to throw him to the wolves. I think the pressure he is going feel to play well and produce is going to be more than he can handle and he will crack under the pressure. That Jet locker room was a mess at the end of last season, and it is going to be very fragile coming into the start of this season. If the season starts out bad for Sanchez, I don't think it will be pretty for him.

it just makes my day so much better when I know that Jets fans across the country are worried about this.

Totally agree. Who does this 4-time NFL MVP, Superbowl MVP, record setting, hall of fame quarterback think he is. Totally overrated, ur completely right brotha :)

it's not about meaningless individual awards, it's about winning in Jan/Feb.

Funny how one minute the Jets are suppose to be supporting Sanchez the next they are interested in Manning. This will be great if he comes to Miami and the Jets are left with a QB they know nobody is happy with. Especially if the Jets make a decent offer and don't get him. Not quite as bad a situation but similar to when Ross flew out to CA. This should make it clear to the fans and players that Sanchez isn't the answer, if it wasn't already.
