Most of you are going to choose not to believe this, but I personally know somebody who plays in the NFL, and I asked him Myself(Not any of this, My 3rd cousin works with a guy who went out with a girl who has a friend who's boyfriends ex girlfriend knows someone in the NFL stuff) But I actually talked to this guy/player and this is what he said about the CBA.......... "Don't believe anything you see or hear. We as players know next to nothing, and there is NO WAY Espn or any other network or paper is really going to know either" He said a lot of the reports we hear are very misleading, and that the two sides are basically in constant communications, so when you see a headline saying............."Talks break off again" it's not that the two sides aren't talking at all, they are just not in a conventional meeting. He said he is told that someone from both sides are constantly on the phones, emails, etc...... Now as far as where the talks and the two sides actually stand, he has NO CLUE, and he also said that he has no idea if it will really get done or not, but that both sides really are trying to make it happen.

Pretty much the same in any labor negotiations. The media can only speculater for the most part just to pique everyone's interest.

Yea...Last night Zack Thomas sold me a sack and we blazed. Then he bought me an ice cream cone .

Whatever man, You know some of these guys in the NFL are the same people they were before they even went to College. Not ALL of them get heads the size of a hot air baloon, and some of them do still keep in touch with their friends/family

The media does blow things out of their butts. Gotta make a name for themselves.

On the other hand, I hope that these players have enough money to survive on for another three days. Players are the greedy ones! They have nothing invested but time, the owners on the other hand have invested in everything.

I'am not saying all players, but there are some greedy ones though. I'am blaming the union for this.

I believe you. Don't worry about what people on this board say; what you said is pretty much accurate from what I've been hearing too. I have a couple of friends in the NFL, one was my roommate in college, and the other is a child-hood buddy of mine. They are both saying the same thing too; about being kept in the dark and they are picking up things from what they see on ESPN or The Network.

You mind telling us who this person is?

I'd rather not say who he is, but lets just say.......... He's a high profile WR who went to my highschool here in VA. He's really the only WR in the NFL I know of that went to a highschool around here, Oh other than Ronald Curry, but he was a QB his Entire career until he got to the NFL.

Who cares who it is, it is not like they said anything we don't know. Why could you possibly care?

Hmmmmm.....is there a chance he plays on the Steelers? :)

As a VA resident, I should know these things ... and if it is the Steelers, I'd say, not as a WR. And if that's the person, then I have a step-mother who also knows this person and she often vouches about what a good guy he is.

It's alright....I dont even really care. Shawn ALexander was asked the same thing and he admitted he didn't know anything about what's going on. Of course it can be true. But how many of these type of threads have been made in the past with no proof or whatever?..it's all good. just thought that joke was funny.

I thought this part was very interesting. I always assumed thats how things were, but i never heard anyone say so outright. Thanks for sharing. :)

You gotta separate the union and the players here. Even in this thread, it is clear the players aren't pushing this crap, just the union. What evidence do you have in this that the players are being greedy, all you have is the unions demands. I haven't heard any players saying give me 60%, but there are players saying the union is not telling us what is going on, and that the players are happy with the deal as it is.
