...I don't have to talk myself into the Dolphins' first round pick this year, which is usually the case.

This is only the 2nd time in my life that I ever remember them taking the guy that I wanted them to take (the other being Vontae Davis).

Man, I'm excited for the season to start. Wish it started on Monday! :hump::hump::hump:

Best aspect of this pick is Red Zone jump balls.

Best aspect of this for me is receiver talk is over with.

I agree.

Best pick since RT & even him I had to talk myself into cause he wasn't Luck.

I was very happy we took Tannehill. That was my guy...I knew we had no shot at Luck though.

This was probably the first time though where we had options, could have gone a lot of different ways here (not as obvious as needing the QB and drafting Tannehill), and we got the guy who was BPA and a fit for this team. It's the first time I really feel like the GM is going to turn this franchise around and end all the crappy draft picks that don't last more than their rookie contracts.

Its a long shot picking where we were that they would take who any of us wanted. Parker took some time to grow on me but as the draft got closer and I focused in more on Parker, the clearer the talent became. ItsMateo is right about getting to end the talk. Parker is pretty much a consensus here whereas anyone else besides Cooper would caused a great debate. Tannehill was a player I also prayed that we selected. We are fortunate that both of these guys fells to us because it could have easily gone differently.

The last time I loved the Dolphins 1st round pick as much as I love this one was in 1997 when we took Yatil Green. Hopefully this one works out a little better than that one - but Parker was the guy I wanted through the entire process and that hasn't happened for me in almost 20 years.

Hahaha so true man. It was a no-brainer in every way imaginable. It's just too bad we can't also double down and get Jalen Strong.

I was busy cursing the colts for being cheaters!! Damn suck for luck. Worked out ok though now. I like tannehill better overall. Barely.

You prefer tannehill over luck damn ill have whatever you've been smoking !

I'm very happy it unfolded like it did.

there was a very real chance both gurley and devante parker were off the board at 14 (especially with Gregory, La'el Collins dropping past us).

we could be a very unhappy group of fins fans right now.

What I love about Parker is I think he will fit very, very nicely on this team. I would have questioned Tannehill's ability to connect with Perriman, even though he's been getting better on the deep throw -- Parker is a guy who I think can make up for that deficit with a pro-level catch radius, good instincts working on defenders, and finding the ball. Now you can see what you have in Cameron, Stills going down field, with Landry Parker and Jennings working the short-to-medium passes and maybe Jennings even breaks a long one. In the red zone, all these guys will have good hands and instincts, and should beat their defenders with their upside. Too many crafty guys to cover. Lazor's gonna have a field day.

Now draft a G and we're set.
