Serena got all racket breakin mad, then she chased a line judge around the court with her racket and got issued a penalty point at match point and she's EJECTED!!! YEEER OUT Serena!!!!

Yea that's how Phins roll....we nasty

You guys act as if this is cool. This is more like she's being an uber *******.

It's not cool....it's not really anything. Most of us don't care too much about tennis and most of us don't care too much about the celebrity ownership. Just an amusing moment in sports...too bad for her to lose her cool like that, but whatcha gonna do.

Would you prefer we write letters to Ross asking her to resell her share back to him?

She got cheated out of that play or whatever. I was watching. I know crap about tennis. But my friend who I was watching it explained it all to me. She was accused of stepping on the line and she didn't. And yes, she lost her cool but its like being a cornerback in the afc championship and getting called on pass interference on the opponents final drive. Who cares if she lost her cool. At least it shows shes human. I liked her press conference after wards. She is real down to earth.

Don't know about the Phins but Serena is nasty that's for sure. Unless a person is into girls that look like men, then she'd be hot I guess.
She showed her true Compton thugness in that match. I'm glad she was ejected.

And again...people wonder why I can't stand the Williams sisters. I'll bet a grand she pulled the race card atleast twice.

Get your facts right buddy. First thing, the crowd was with her and she won 3 Grand Slam titles at the US Open.

The line judge who made the foot call was an asian lady. Last time I checked, asians are visible minorities in the US.
So how in hell can a visible minority (Serena) pull the race card on another much more visible minority (asian lady).

She had already lost the first set & was right about to lose the second set.

She was going to lose that match anyway. She behaved badly, but it didn't really have any effect on the tennis match. She would have lost anyway.

not necessarily. i've seen Serena come back from a 5-1 deficit to beat Clijsters before.

Really?

I don't follow tennis anymore. She had lost the first set already 6-4. I heard that she wigged out and destroyed her racket after losing that first set. She was right about to lose the match. All they did was deduct ONE point.

I just watched her press conference. :chuckle:

She was belligerant with the press and pretended that she didn't threaten the line judge. Did you hear what she said to her? :chuckle:

Serena Williams is the epitome of low class. I'm glad tonight happened the way it did, a very high profile tirade that will extend beyond the typical tennis fan, because she's managed to skate past it for years, despite one juvenile comment after another following losses. She never gives the opponent credit, merely whining that the opponent was lucky. It's always been a stuffy attitude, no threat of playful warmth.

Prime example was the 3 straight losses to Justine Henin in grand slam quarterfinals a couple of years ago. It was delicious. Serena was increasingly frustrated with every loss and her comments similarly plummeted to lower and lower depths.

Watch the replay of tonight's explosion. The threat sentence is obvious, as obvious as the pointed finger. Dozens of fans behind the linesman heard it. You can see their stunned and disgusted reaction, particularly in the faces of the women in the lower seats.

Serena better not lie about what she said, that's my prime advice. Too many witnesses will counter, and I wouldn't discount the possibility of a recording.

In her press conference, Serena tried to cover her typical tendency with praise of Clijsters. But she returned to true form when asked about an apology to the lineswoman. Serena was taken back by the question, saying something like, "Linesmen are yelled at all the time. This was no different."

I'll wager that attitude will change within days, once an agent tells her that reputation and endorsements are at stake. Then we'll get a robotic apology with fancy insincere words and phrases.

The hidden reality: Tonight's result demonstrates the pathetic depths of women's tennis, a player who hadn't touched a racket in 2+ years reaching the final. The Russians choke routinely with big leads. Other Top 10 or 15 players have no big weapon or consistency. It's a farce compared to a decade or more ago. The Williams sisters take advantage of the sorry competition to rack up more majors than they should have despite part time attendance. And can you imagine the fury in the Williams camp tonight, especially the father, both sisters taken out by a new mom.

A Dolphin connection means squat. I've watched and rooted tennis majors dating prior to Shula's tenure in Miami, so who gives a flip about a month or two of publicity driven ties?
