You know the interesting thing. With 19 penalties and 4 turnovers we still had a chance to win a game on the road against our most hated division rival. The loss sucks, and the way we lost sucks, but at least after all that adversity the team never quit and were in it till the end.

Another interesting note: Why were the commentators such Kelly Holcomb homers. They made this guy sound like a field general while it was all of our stupid penalties that practically led to all of their points.

Exactly. Our ability to handle adversity will become more evident as the season goes on.

I can think of another positive thing, we all know that this team was retooling and that there would be some problems that miami would have. Maybe it's better that Miami gets it out of their system now than later in the year. So many time before Miami race out of the gates and look way better than they actually are and be 4-0 or 6-1 or so and then the problems in Miami start showing later and then they lose 5 games in the end, the ritual late season slump. I think Miami is going to only get better as the season progresses, and maybe this year they will be at their peak towards the end,and finish the season strong and hopefully make the playoffs. Well it's a thought any how

And to add on...as bad as it felt to watch them just not get out of the starting gate - these away games against the Jets and Bills and Pats are going to be the hardest games of the year despite the records. If we lost at home this way against the Bills it would have sickened me more. The fans of those teams expect home/away splits with the division rivals - except for last year that is pretty common with all the AFCE teams. Bonus to win on the road against them. Better beat them at home though.

Another positive item is that Saban and his coaches made some half time adjustments which almost won the game for us.

IMO This is a very positive development .

No moral victories... we are 0-2 in division play and the 2 losses were self inflicted.

Way to get in there and kill any optimism, good job.

Well there is that. But I think that says more about the bills than us.

About Holcomb. He had only 6 incomplete passes out of 26. The guy did everything that was asked of him in the passing game. He got it his WRs, he spread the ball around. No game changing mistakes. he did look like a general out there. But I think that says more about our passing D than it does about Holcomb...

There wasn't much to be happy about with that loss except for the play of Brown.... And I know you all are going to say he fumbled the game away. But if it wasn't for his hard hitting and breaking tackles in the backfield we wouldn't have been in the situation to win. And that was the last game with out Ricky so now our offense will be even better.

CC... am still positive about the overall outlook on the season... BUT... self made purgatories are the worst kind of hell. I could take just getting flat out beat but to beat ourselves... we're better than that. What does t say about the other team if after 18 penalties and 5 turnovers, you still had a chance to win? What does it say about us? As you know, this isn't the NCAA, where if your good, you can overcome mistakes easily. While I think that Nick can certainly right the ship, it just frustrating to know that if it weren't for these self inflicited wounds, we'd most likely be 4-0.

I know, killing yourself slowly is an anganizing way to go! I didn't mean to bag on you directly. i was also disgusted with the penalties.
