Where is the Ted Ginn reverse play we ran so often last year?

I can think of a few plays where we got nice yardage out of it but I can't remember us calling that play once this year. I know we did it against the Jags in our pre-season game but that's all I can remember.

Didn't Ginn have a fumble in the playoffs on this play last year? And wasn't it the play that pretty much ended the game for us?

Yeah, he had a fumble, but also a few TD's out of the very same play last year. The few scores out of it speak a little louder to me then the one fumble.

Why not run it?

the fumble was during the handoff as Penny got hit trying to hand it off... timing disrupted, cant really blame anyone there (except the olineman i guess)...

but we did run it this year, and Ginn had a good gain from the 1 i can remember, id guess about 25 yards against Buffalo...

what i dont get is our FO keeps talking about how we have to put our guys in a position where they can make plays... so that would mean we want to get Ginn the ball in space, but hes having trouble catching the ball you say? so why dont we hit him on those quick screens? give him the reverses, get the ball in his hands out of the wildcat... somehow get the ball in his hands where he doens't have to CATCH it downfield...

he can make plays, but instead we run that WR bubble screen to Bess so he can be caught from behind by defensive lineman, or fumble the ball away...

maybe because he is never in the game so when he does come in the have about 5 plays they know are coming

Great point. I was thinking about this after the game. The coaching staff has to get him in open space, put him in the slot and take advantage of mismatches, something where we can use his skills and hide his deficiencies. And for goodness sake, if he isn't going to start at WR, let him return punts. He returned more punts for TD's than kickoffs at OSU.

We ran it in the first half of the Saints game. When Will Smith broke into the back field Ginn couldn't get to the sideline fast enough, he went out of bounds 1 yard short of the first down instead of lowering his shoulder. We also ran it during the first Jets game, he surprised me there he cut it up field ran hard and actually lowered his shoulder!

No, the play that ended it for us was the Ed Reed pick six, and if not that then the Ed Reed pick near their endzone that ended our sure TD drive. The Ginn fumble didn't help though. But there is no way you can blame the loss on Ginn, the Ravens pretty much smacked us around the whole game, they were the better team. Period.

I hope to see another reverse to Henne from Sticky Icky. That play worked really well last week.

Thank U Whether We Like It Or Not We Didnt Move Him Before Trade Deadline So Use Him, He's The Most Explosive Offensive Player We Have. People Know Damn Well Davone Bess Will Not Blow The Top Off The Coverage Slot Wr At Best, So Why In The Hell Is He The Single Wide Out In Two Tight End Formations!
