That Randy Muller brought up on ESPN Radio today when talking about Ricky.

If Ricky shows up, just shows up, is "clean" and passes drug tests, then that $8.6 mill goes away.By Miami taking him back they are removing that debt over his head. Doesn't matter if he plays, doesn't matter if he tries hard, doesn't matter if he is even good or puts out an effort. The debt is gone!

So, if Saban cuts him, the debt is gone. If Saban doesn't play him, the debt is gone. If Ricky just "SHOWS UP" and doesn't go AWOL, the debt is gone!

All Ricky has to do is show up. Doesn't matter if he weights 195 lbs, 220 lbs, or whatever. Doesn't matter if he plays or doesn't. Doesn't matter what he weighs. Doesn't matter if he even cares or tries hard.

Randy brought up he doesn't understand what the heck Miami is doing and doesn't understand why they just don't take the money and be done with Ricky.

How is it gone? Even though he comes back, he still violated his contract last season.

Randy is so smart he doesn't realize there is no money for Miami to take.

Mueller just feels like fanning the flames here. I would find it highly unlikely that what he is eluding to would happen, and if it did that Miami is simply out of luck.

I mentioned this once about a month ago and everyone just said that ricky is an athlete and thus is naturally competitive. I think this is rediculous. I doubt there will be a real effort

Wow, I was under the impression that whether Ricky would have to pay back the $8.6 million debt would be up to us, and that we would work and negotiate it out through restructuring his contract and drop the charges if played and lived up to his contract.

Hypothetically thinking... Lets say, we restructure his contract to a much more significant low amount (close to the VET MIN). What if he quits and walks out on us again or breaches the contract? Wouldn't he be entitled to owing us money (the money left on his contract?) again? And could we bring up the $8.6 million again... or once it's dropped, it's dropped?

Because by accepting his return they are waiving the $8.6 mill debt esentially.

You think Ricky will return and still pay all $8.6 mill? If that's the case why return?

on Espn.com under a John Clayton report he says that it is still up to the Dolphins how much Ricky pays back. He said that the Saints paid alot of that money already.

So he can pay some of it back? He doesn't have any money anymore does he? I also heard the Saints have paid some of the $8.6 mill. Do you know anything about that?

im just telling ya what Muller said. If his facts are wrong then so be it. But he made it very clear that if Ricky returns that $8.6 mill almost goes away.

And his returning doesn't mean he has to put out any effort at all. If Miami accepts his return, it doesn't mean Ricky has to try. It just means he has to show up.

Err, that is incorrect. A federal judge has ruled on a case. Ricky just can't come back to the team and have that injunction disappear. It is up to the employee and employer to figure out the circumstances.

People are forgetting that this situation with RW is a unique one, this does not happen very often. There are no hardcore NFL rules to govern this, only blurry guidelines. This matter is a strict contractual matter and will be a work-in-progress as RW returns.

Randy is assuming Ricky doesnt try at all. If that is the case then he is right, however if Ricky plays and does try and also contributes then we have a football player which in that case means its not all about the money.

Ricky walked away once to go smoke weed! What makes you think he will try hard?

Plus Randy has good insight on Ricky as he was the one who drafted Deuce and got Ricky out of town in New Orleans. Im gonna take Randy's judgement when it comes to Ricky. He hasn't been wrong yet.

So... He doesn't have to pay anything back. We're forgetting that he'll still be under contract with the Miami Dolphins. So if he wants to get payed by another club he has to make nice with us. THEN Run his arse off this year, then we deal him, then he's someone else's project. Come On people! ;) This isn't freakin astro phyiscs! And by "people" I mean who ever is reading this. It by no means gives you any rights under the Consititution unless you deserve them. And I guess DESERVE is subjective. So.........talk amongst yourselv'es.
