I got a question for you fin fans?

I have made points about how people are played to see who will step up. I have made the point that since McCown has already started and is a veteran he is a back up and with Henne being a rookie he will not be thrown in the fire. This has led me to say that Beck will be the starter or Beck will have to play very poorly to not be the starter.

I have been stating this and got ribbed hard for it so I would like to know.
From WV and all his buddies who say the best QB should start right now regardless of who it is...

Why do we not go after Brett Farve for a Conditional 3rd rounder? He could start immediatly and is probably only playing 1 more season so if Beck does fail we have Henne, who could learn from Favre

I would trade for Favre in a second. The guy played well last year. He is still better than at least half of the starters in this league and is certainly better than McCown. He is a one year deal and can help us compete while Henne sits. Then next year McCown could back up Henne or start for a while if Henne needs more time.

As for your point that Beck should start because you believe McCown is simply a backup and Henne is a rookie I have a question for you. If you think Henne shouldnt start because he is a rookie, how is 4 starts and some action in a more or less preseason game vs. the Bungles in week 17 so much experience that it trumps playing a rookie? My point is that Beck is more or less a rookie himself.

You start Beck because it's now or never. It's sink or swim for him. Henne still can benefit from sitting a year or two. Beck will not awarded the luxury of time. It's not in the Dolphins best interest to start Henne we are not contenders, yet! Let him be ready to play when we are!

Why is it now or never for beck?

Favre will be released at some point. There is no point in wasting a pick and trading for him. Honestly though, why would he want to come to Miami? I am a devoted life long fin fan and its pretty easy to see this team is not going to have a shot at the super bowl this year. He wants to come back to win. A rebuilding process is probably not the situation he wants to jump into. We can all wish though. May the best quarterback win the battle, whomever that is.

Now or never for Beck? Ummm ok. Played in 5 or whatever games as a rookie on a crap *** team with idiot coaches. Yeah, sure seems like its sink or swim.

My God, trust me...... All of these guys will get to play this year in some fashion. Why can't we get off the premature allegiance to one guy as "my guy" and realize we better damn well hope we have "the guy" somewhere on the roster right now.

I swear from reading these posts from the likes of WVDolphan and such, that if Beck actually became "the guy" and led the Fins to the Super Bowl title by 2010 that they would be disappointed.

The fact is everyone needs to let it play out and stop rooting for players on Miami to fail. The best thing that could happen for guys like Henne is guys like McCown and Beck actually get in and do well. Better play drives up the performance expectations of the backups. At worst we would end up with the dream scenario of two rocks as starters - this can be solved thru a trade to further build.

The worst case scenario is we don't have the answer yet on this roster. Relax and let it play out.

We already know Josh McCown sucks...hes a back up in this league

As for John Beck, the jury is still out, no rookie QB is expected to play well their rookie season.....its as simple as that

John Beck deserves a REAL chance, he had absolutley no help what so ever last season, no running game, poor o-line, and our best WR was a ROOKIE!

If yall remember John Beck played pretty well in his first 2 starts, aginst the eagles and the steelers, he didnt throw any TD's but he also didnt throw any INT's and both games were very close.

I see a lot of potential in John Beck, and if Parcells didnt see it, he would already have his starting QB.

I'd rather have Dan Marino come back and play then acquire an indecisive, unfaithful Favre who can't finish a respectful career with the Green Bay franchise.

Well I tried to start the official McHenneck bandwagon about 1.72 months ago, but for some reason it never caught on.

Let's try it again. Go McHenneck! Go Phins! F the Jesters, Cheatriots, and Jills!

I agree about Favre but I do think 4 starts and some playing time makes you more prepared for a season. But well see...

Go McHenneck!....i wish we could fuse all 3 lol

I don't think Favre is good choice to teach younger guys, wasn't he pretty crappy as a "mentor" to Rogers? besides, Favre has more bad habits than I care to see in these young QB's.

Now or never for Beck? Ummm ok. Played in 5 or whatever games as a rookie on a crap *** team with idiot coaches. Yeah, sure seems like its sink or swim. This is dumb cause Beck is older and we just drafted a rookie in the second round...funny you forgot to mention this!

If this is true we will suck and Beck is definatly not the answer.

Come on are you serious why would we be disappointed. In your previous comment you just said Beck is not the answer.

Some of us want to discuss something!

yup

Who cares if Favre teachs any of them a damn thing. All the youngsters need to just watch and learn. Coachs are there to teach not Favre. Favre should only be there to give a sizeable chance to a decent season

What are you talking about? Favre doesnt have to teach anything. The qbs we have can learn alot just by watching how a leader leads. A QB coach teaches not the starting QB.
