If I had one wish for Sunday, its for the O-Line to finally come together. Not to put all the blame on any one unit for the mediocre offensive production, but watching the first three games have made me realize what we have all been overlooking in this offseason hype. The game is won in the trenches, and dolphins haven't won in the trenches yet. Daunte hasn't had a great season so far, but he also has had very few attempts to take shots down the field. I think with some good protection, and given the chance to air the ball out, he could regain some confidence in his game. When I heard about him coming here, I was excited, mainly to have a QB that can throw the ball downfield to chambers, and that just hasn't happened yet, I think due mainly to the protection issues. Also, other than some REALLY bad throws (for INT's), he has had very good completion percentages, and throughout his career, that has been his strongpoint. If we can eliminate the sacks and loss yardage, the offense can be more unpredictable and possible break out of this slump.

In my opinion, where this team goes from here depends on how the O-Line can come together. And I still think it can.

feel ya dawg

You know what? You are totally right man. We have it going on on offense in the skil positions in my opinion. Chambers, McMichael, Welker, Booker, and Brown = pretty_schweet. Pep will be aye when he recovers and if he had more time to throw the rock. Secondary has issues, but I reckon by the middle of the season will probably gel. Front seven is not spectacular, but is competent if not long in the tooth. Our O-line? Left tackle can run block but seems to get beat alarmingly enough on pass blocking and Right Guard has been a bit unlucky in terms of injuries. To put things in perspective, we're not even on 3r string. Joe Berger, 3rd string would be a step up, we are due to injuries not even on our practice squad but on others left overs. But, I reckon Houck will make the best out of it and by the middle of the season we will be at least a solid team, but probably not a superbowl contender this year largely because of the line, the secondary in the first half of the season and because Pep needs more time. Just my two cents...

Clearly, the oline is the biggest issue. Daunte needs time to make the throws he also needs to manage the game and not turn the ball over and our offense will be set.:cooldude:

Going by the Poll on here alot of ppl say its Dauntes fault. I dont get that. Culpepper performed well behind a good Minny O-Line. He comes here and doesnt do it behind a new/banged up unit. Feeley found out what happened when you get that sort of protection. Until this O-Line can protect and start creating a push for Ronnie then this is going to be an up and down season. Positive Consistency is required.
