One win too late

I already stopped caring about the Dolphins this year. Does that make me a bad fan? Hell, maybe it does. But you know what, I'm sick of this song and dance. One win and we're playoff bound. All those hopes and dreams... just ready to be crushed by the Miami Dolphins yet again. I don't understand all the unbridled optimism on this forum. In what I read today it sounds like we sucked slightly less than the Bungles. Oh boy. And, of course, there's even more dysfunction within our team with the Jonathan Martin thing.

I just can't get behind this team. They're not likable. They just haven't shown me they're worth rooting for. The past 10 years have killed me and I'm not willing to give the benefit of the doubt to them anymore.

And all the bad media? It's actually started to get to me. Where there's smoke, there's fire. If even half of the **** I've read about the Dolphins this year is true I would be incredibly disappointed in this team. The only two people associated with the current Miami Dolphins I remotely like anymore are Tannehill and Wake(*edit* also Hartline). Everyone else?... I don't care. I'm numb. The entire team and coaching staff could be fired and I wouldn't give a ****.

I was a die hard fan for all of my childhood and I don't even care about a win anymore :( I was happier after the win over the Ravens in the 1-15 season than after I heard about this win.

I dedicate this thread to the Best part about getting a win tonight. The trolls will disappear for 10 days thread starter. I would have never had the motivation to write up this thread by myself! Now, where do I go to sign up for the troll brigade?

OK, bye then. Good luck in life!

Emo much? But in reality I don't care about your post. Also it would be really awesome if you became a fan of the jets or something and stopped posting here. That's a dream of mine.

If your a fan of the dolphins you better like some drama, fingernails bitten off and plenty of beer.

Serious question: why are you even here posting on a fan forum?

I've hated our team for a month. Mathematically they're still in it and if a few teams lose (Jets, Ravens and Chargers), at least this week they're still in the playoffs.

Will they blow it later in the year? Probably. We expect it. But for right now they're in it. I'll take it.

it's not too late, that was a HUGE win. you are very much in the thick of it. I think had you lost then we may have seen the season spiraling out of control but unfortunately you won and I guarantee the confidence is back up in that LR.

Losing last night would've been the season with all that's been going on lately. So for now, the season is still alive. I'll take it even if it's just for another week.

Go root for some other team then. Can this be considered spam?

This thread reminds me of every hot girl in High School that would constantly call themselves fat so that guys would say "Your hot, your not fat".

Well its hard being a dolphins fan, ive said some negative things over the years when im venting. My point is I love my team I love them so much I couldnt even sleep last night. Ive been a fan for 35 years and was born in miami in 1972 so in my opinion you cant get to be a ymore of a fan than me. Ive come to realize if you are a true fan and you love your team then there is no way you can let go of your passion for them. Its funny when things go to crap you say " Im not watching them next week" but then you find your ass planted in front of that tv the next game.

When a fan does not like any member on the team other than Wake and Tannehill and gives up, is too far goners IMO......

:bye:

Exactly, that's the point. I've hated this organization ever since the Saints game and I still want the entire coaching staff, Jeff Ireland and Dawn Aponte gone so that the closest they come to Dolphins is when they visit Seaworld. But there's one thing about the Miami Dolphins that no other professional sports team in the world accomplishes: getting me out of bed in the middle of the night after a four game losing streak against a team they have no business of competing with. I slept a total of three hours last night and I'm still at work, fatigue and worn out but oh my, I had a heck of a night. This is what the Miami Dolphins will do.

perspective:

I was there at the first game when Joe Auer scored on the Fins very first play at the OB. There through all the great years when Shula was always a threat.

Priviledged to watch years of Dan Marino. The team grows on you and in certain respects gives emotional highs and lows like few things experienced in life. And people being different handle these ups and downs differently.

I think when you see people fed up and at least saying they are through with the Dolphins, you should try to realize the extent that they are truly attached and experiencing so much pain and disappointment that it comes out in saying things in the present which aren't truly the same in the future, (called venting = relieving built up pressure) and you don't build up this kind of pressure without a very strong attachment.... So when we hear one of our fellow Fin fans going through the pain and suffering and saying he's had it, give the guy a break and try to understand that it's the pain and a deep attachment of "caring" for the team thats been letting him down for so long that he just can barely handle it any more. I go through this every year almost every week lately and this inconsistency that seems to be the only consistency gets very painful to deal with and many times right after the games feel like throwing in the towel again...and yes say I'm finished with this for it is just to painful..... at least till the next game, and when we win it brings back that excitement and strengthens the addiction ...U got to admit the last doz years have been brutal on all fronts.....

Try to realize that 99% of the fans saying that they are ready to give up are most likely true fans and not necessarily half azz cry babys but rather, honestly to deeply involved for their own health ... but they are hooked....additcted... and are there the following Sunday on the edge of their seats praying for a Dolphins "win" whether they like it or not...no matter what they say the week before.... putting them selves in line for potentially more abuse .... thats a fan.........
Don't think the people who actually do give up, come here ... so maybe a little understanding and compassion is called for......
