Just imagine if we had traded 4 first round picks for Deshaun Watson only to have him miss the entire season and the first 11 games of this season. Only then to have the NFL take away ANOTHER first rounder for the Flores thing. Not to mention the players we would have had to trade/cut to clear the cap space for his $230 mil contract. A contract that is fully guaranteed for a player who hasn't seen the field in 2 years and who is a mobile QB on the downside of his athletic prime. Oh, and a contract that would have precluded us from getting Tyreek Hill, Terron Armstead, Connor Williams, and now Bradley Chubb.

Instead, we have a player who leads the entire NFL in passer rating, QBR, and YPA who takes up less than 4% of our cap and has 2.5 more seasons on his rookie deal while still not even entering his prime. This same player is 19-6 when he plays at least a half of football.

I wasn't on this site last year, but I was taking up the Tua mantle on Dolphins twitter. And I have to say: we were freaking right.

Hindsight is 20/20. When the team was 1-7 and looked a train wreck even the most stark supporters were talking about Watson, myself included. I, like you am so glad Miami didn't dig that hole, it would have been impossible to dig out of and right now the Browns look like the Browns, not good. Miami would have been saddled with that contract and no playmakers outside of Waddle.

McDaniel came in and changed the vibe, it was impossible to miss when he arrived and damn is it refreshing to have a football team for once again!

Not to mention the media circus that will ensue upon his return, probably protests as well. Hes also torn the ACL in both of his knees in the past.

He recently got pulled over driving nearly 100mph and got a ticket. Now this might not seem like a big deal (I've been known to speed from time to time 😅), but you would think he might want to be on his best behavior after everything that has happened. Apparently he doesn't learn or doesn't care.

Thank God we didn't trade for him.

It is a very nice to see all the haters and people who claimed they had such conviction about Tua being an average qb at best because of his lack of size and arm strength..

Tua is an increibly talented qb, you just have to know what to look for.

Im of the belief that the qb's talent has to be that much more talented in order to make ridiculous receiver talent thrive.

I really think there needs to be a well reported story, maybe someone like Darlington, who really tells the story of this QB's ascension from the depths of legit QB hell to becoming the NFL'S # 1 rated passer.

I mean Tua is the king stat monkey this year deservedly so.check this bad boy out.

Highest Passer Rating on 3rd down in a single season since 1991* 2022 Tua Tagovailoa 142.7 1994 Steve Young 141.2 1999 Kurt Warner 137.3 2009 Aaron Rodgers 133.5

ok, im starting to feel a little weird feeling, like I dont know what to do with myself, its been a long time since I ever felt truly confident about being a contender..of course I think we need a few pieces to be that team but just knowing we are in the cusp is very unfamiliar territory...

I need a drink.

We could have gone 0-16. I still wouldn't have wanted Watson in Miami.

Agreed, me too. I never would have supported him either.

Pretty much...
Tua, Chubb, T. HILL and whoever we draft in the 1st in 2024 is what we would have lost if we got Watson. Plus that insane contract.

Watson ruined that teams for years. They better hope he can play at a good level. If not, the Browns made a move they can't recover from pick wise for 3 more seasons, salary wise atleast 5. IMO

It doesnt feel quite right, I've never experienced this before. In all my years of fandom, if we got to the playoffs, or in the hunt, it just felt like luck and we didnt have an actual chance to do anything
