I see a lot of nonsense being posted here - from Ireland sucks, to Tanney is a turd, to dookie, to skies collapsing etc etc. From what i see, there are 2 true issues with this football team right now and they are obvious :
1 - Offensive Line play ESP Martin/Right Side. - We should have signed a Vet to play right tackle or gone with Murtha from the start - Martin is simply not ready fof the big time. If you look at who missed blocks in the run game, and most of the batted balls, you will see that J. Martin is being DOMINATED on almost every snap.
2 - Coaching - Again, i said something last week and everyone jumped on me b/c they are on the philbin kool-aid. Again, too early to judge the guy - i agree. Again, i hope he does well of course BUT -
I know everyone LOVED the Egnew pick - he was our "J. Finley". Yeah, right. Guy cant block and cant catch either - there were solid WR's still left on the board and we went and got Egnew. Now look, the kid may still turn out good. BUT we needed a WR, everyone also said that was a "Philbin Pick" if true, then not a good decision. Starting Jonathan Martin from the jump i dont get when they werent going to start Tanny from the jump. Another bad decision.
But most of all - Say what you will about "Morono" and trust me, i'm not a fan, at least he had a personality. He was straight forward and wanted to slam it down team's throats. And even though he "sucked", at least the dolphins were a physical team and had some personality. With Philbin so far, there is no spark, and getting rid of chad, brandon, and yermiah, the team lacks strong personalities to an extent.
Matt Moore and Ryan have good personalities and are playing hard - but we cannot even begin to scratch the surface of how either of them has played, or how the offensive system is in general b/c the o-line has been so pathetic and sorry so far.
In order for this team to make strides we need to make a switch at RT, We need to pick a starting QB and just get going with him, and we need to get a SPARK. I see people saying our new offense doesnt fit out players b/c of "lack of weapons" and "lack of talent" We have good tight ends, good running backs, good quarter backs (not great), and a good left side/center of the O-line. If this coaching staff got their heads outta their butts, we could have a servicable right tackle and at least 1 half way decent wide out.
Make the changes Philbin.
