1-4 and make the playoffs before Miami did it this season.

1983 Lions
1992 Chargers
1993 Oilers
2002 Titans
2002 Jets
2004 Packers
2011 Broncos

With only one of those teams making it far, which was the 02 Titans.

Pretty damn good accomplishment.
 
I wonder how many of those teams clinched a playoff berth with 1 game still to play.
 
we killed the '92 chargers in the playoffs.

and our collapse in '02 allowed the jets to make it.
 
The 1992 Chargers started 0-4 (or 1-5). They actually won their Wildcard game before losing to the Dolphins 31-0. Nice to know that winning a playoff game has historical precedent.

Note - those Chargers won their division; therefore, their Wildcard playoff win was a home game.
 
Interesting fact: six of those seven teams made it to the second round of the playoffs. (The 1983 Lions and 1993 Oilers didn't win a playoff game but got first round byes and lost their first game.) Only the 2004 Green Bay Packers, who were upset at home by the Vikings in the infamous Randy Moss mooning game, failed to make it past Wild Card weekend.

So ending the season playing your best going into the playoffs bodes well; however, the Steelers can boast a similar claim.
 
Wasn't the 2011 broncos led by tebow, and winning against pittsburg with Gase as the QB coach?

You might want to add last years Chiefs which started 1-5.
 
I remember that 92 Chargers team. They started 0-4 I believe, and I remember Bobby Ross being interviewed and he said "Well, I guess mathematically we're still in it."

I think even he was surprised by that turnaround. :lol:
 
Hell in 2008 we were 0-2 and 2-4 and then won 9 of our next 10.

Damn I just got a feeling of Deja Vu :lol:
 
Well, that is quite an accomplishment. Let's go further than all those teams before.
