I know the loss to the Pats was awful and worrying and injuries are mounting up. However, should we not wait until after the game against the Bengals to see how the team reacts before throwing in the towel on the season?

I know we are all scarred from past failures, but I seem to recall in the recent past going to the playoffs after a 1-4 start and an abysmal loss AT HOME to an average team...

Only in Miami can a team be 3-0, lose one game and all of a sudden the coach is on the hot seat and needs to fired and your 100+ rated QB is the worst in the league (before we end up with another Tannehill debate, not saying he's the best or the answer, but over the span of 4 games he has been above average and far from the worst).

I'm not saying the fins will be great and that things will definitely get back on track, but if the players have the weak mentality of half the people on this board, we might as well just stop watching right now and go to the off-season.

Winners and champions are forged through adversity. It's how you respond when you have a setback that determines whether you achieve something great or just fail and fall by the wayside.

Part of this off-season "culture change" was about bringing in players who, when the going gets hard, work even harder to right the ship rather than mail it in. I for one want to see how this thing plays out.

Sorry, a bit of a rant, but I just can't believe half of what I'm reading after ONE (albeit abysmal) loss. Heaven forbid we lose another one...

Agree 100%. Everyone was waiting for a loss to stomp on this team. Really? Those same Pats that beat us went 1-2 to start the season, at least we dont have to dig out of that very familiar 1-3 / 1-4 start we see year in and year out! Now on the flip side I do believe Adam Gase has to stop calling
plays. He just never gets off to a good start, calls the wrong play for the down and distance far to often and rarely gets in a rythem. With all this speed, I thought we were going to play at a much faster pace. I think we need to commit to the pace and running game and let loggins call the games.

I agree re. Gase play calling. Our opening script usually sucks and we never get off to a fast start.

Interestingly, I know it was a garbage game, but in the one game that Loggains called in the preseason we got off to a flier against ATL ..

Not giving up on the season, Gase or Tannehill for that matter. I just think Tannehill is what he is: a serviceable starter who flashes great talent but plays small in big time games... I pull for the guy; he's talented, high charector and a class act.

That performance last week was very troubling. It's hard to swallow when the team comes out and lays an egg in a game of that magnitude.

I like Gase, I'd like him a hell of alot more if he'd relinquish play calling duties. And give your best weapon on offense more than three carries: thats unacceptable.

That being said, I hope we can get a W this Sunday and get back on track.

Amen. Play well this weekend. If we win and get things back on track, we're still top of the East and a game ahead of the cheats.

If somehow we can stay ahead, they have to come to Miami and win to catch up. I'd much rather it be that way than miami having to go to NE and win to catch up...

Only in Miami?

Check out some of those Falcon boards over the past few years (even the Suoer Bowl year they were criticizing him) . . . Many of those guys want to hang Matty Ice by his feet until he is no longer the QB.

And he is a far more proven QB then Ryan Tannehill is.

I know with me . . . I saw NOTHING that made me think I was watching a “great” team the first 3 weeks, but I was happy to see my Dolphins play and even happier when they win . . . But fans will be fans and go overboard with stuff and predictions.

Hell I take wins any way I can get them, but I know we aren’t talented enough or physical enough to do any real damage. 7-9 was my prediction to start the year and a 3-0 start doesn’t change that. But the difference between 6-10 and 10-6 is slimmer than ever nowadays so hopefully we catch a few breaks.

BTW, complete side note. Anyone notice how much the Pats throw to their RB? White had 10 receptions tonight. Think he is their leading receiver this year...

Yeah, they were saying in th game tonight the Colts were a couple breaks away from being unbeaten... It truly is a fine line between being good and being a losing team

From playing and coaching, I've always found that you usually find yourself and what you're good at about a third or so of the way through a season. If you can somehow make it though that 1st 1/3 with a winning record and start to play really well in the next 1/3, you go into the tail end of the season with some real confidence and give yourself a chance to do something.

How many teams over the years have been part of the pack, doing well but flying under the radar somewhat and then next thing you know they're either top of their division or making noise in the playoffs.

Again not saying that will happen here, but I am a fan and until I know there is no hope, I will hold onto that hope.

I know, right! Just imagine how great we could be with a back possessing a similar skillset!!!

.......oh, wait....

It’s how we lost. It looked like we gave up and there are a lot of people on the board who are fine withjust giving up. Look at the Colts last night. Down 24 - 3 at halftime, did they just give up and accept defeat...nope. The Colts damn near came back last night with a worse team than us. It was 24 - 17 at one point. Gase should be on the hotseat for his play calling and lack of game plan. I would bet that we get routed by Cincinnati.

You must have forgotten the "enjoy your practice squad paycheck" incident or the time Tannehill told the coaching staff to tell the defense to stop intercepting his passes in practice.

I know most people love Tannehill for no apparent reason but let's not crown him a "good kid" when he has patronized his own teammates in the past and comes off as an arrogant entitled little **** behind closed doors.

Also If Tannehill were such a "good guy" why doesn't his former teammates ever talk about him in a positive light upon departure? Landry had nothing positive to say, neither did Ajayi.

What we have on this board is something I would like to coin "Tannehill Delusion" it's like alzheimer's but only applies when thinking or talking about Tannehill.

Here are the problems:
1. Failing when it matters has been the norm for the fins for quite a few years. Season after season it happens; we just expect it. Anything else is seen as a mirage. The team has to break that for us. Sunday vs. NE was that chance and they blew it.
2. We are not an "elite" 3-1 team. We have not looked good in either of our games. Our offense has struggled to get going in each of them. We won each game by one score. We could easily be 0-4 right now.
3. Injuries are piling up and our depth is very shallow. Team was not built to sustain injuries, but we get them every year.
4. NE always recovers. As long as Brady/Belichick has been there, they come back after a slow start. We could have had a 3 game lead in the division, and owned the tiebreaker. Instead, if we lose Sunday to the Bengals, we are tied with NE for the division and they have the tiebreaker.

There’s nothing I can reply to this that you won’t call delusion but what the hell I’ll give it a shot anyways.

As far as the practice squad paycheck conversation goes, I believe what I ended up reading was the defense was jumping routes in a walk through practice where you’re trying to make sure everyone is lining up correctly in preparation for game situations. Defenders knew where the ball was going and were intentionally jumping routes. To even the most simple of people, this would be looked at as a hinderence to anything productive trying to take place. Don’t people screwing off at work when you are trying to get stuff done piss you off? Wouldn’t it everyone? Again this what I thought was happening, I’m not preaching this to be gospel if anyone remembers differently.

As far as people complaining about him after leaving look at the sample size and who left for what reasons.

Pouncey - Released and said something about it finally being good to play with a great QB. I didn’t look a whole lot into it as I mean what else are you really going to say? Rivers is still above Tannehill in my list.

Landry - Traded because of ya not wanting to pay him what he was looking for. Everything he has said I’ve taken with a grain of salt because we all know who Landry is by this point. From saying that the Browns have a better QB situation to Tannehill never working out in the off-season (which everyone who follows them on twitter knows isn’t true), is nothing more than someone being pissed and is just dumping trash cans on the floor on their way out.

Again, delusional or whatever, if there was ever anything I couldn’t fault Tannehill for its his attitude and I’m not sure how anyone could really call that into question. Most here would probably even say he is too nice of a guy and needs to be more of a dick in certain situations.

Brady screams up and down the sidelines at his teammates consistently which I’m sure belittles them. Yet that’s the example most go to when they say they want Tannehill to act a certain way.

It was a bad loss and so sick and tired of the Patriots. I felt we would lose but hoped we would have shown something better than we did. The whole team and coaching was pathetic.

A win against the Bengals will get us back on track.
