turn Charles Clay, a deep seam threat type TE with 4.4 speed into a Fullback :/

“@OmarKelly: RT @DubbSicks: is Clay not materializing into a seam threat? When I look at him I see Keith Byars» he's learning how to be a fullback first”

OR he's learning fullback first because Polite is going to be cut. He'll learn tight end eventually.

Or he's learning fullback in order to improve upon his lead blocking skills because he already has good route running, and hands. He's also a mid 4.6 guy.

Most things to do with the offense will be Daboll's fault/credit.

did I just read that someone hated the idea of having a keith byars type player in th backfield? are you ****ing nuts, keith ****ing rocked out with his **** out.

Or hes learning to play fullback, because hes going to be put into motion a lot on pass plays..

Sparano is not dumb. Clay can play fullback or TE. Having a guy that can play both positions on the field can create mismatches when a play is changed at the line of scrimmage.

If Clay is half of Keith Byars, I would take that.
Byars was deadly with Marino hitting him on the swing pass. I would like to see some of that with Henne to Clay. Hopefully Clay can catch the ball.

Maybe he's not as dumb as you would like to think he is..........:ponder:

I watched every Tulsa game for the past three years. My good friend is a starter on the team so I go visit and watch games in person often as well. Charles Clay is a playmaker when you give him the ball, Coach Grahm never put him in positions to be a lead blocker. He was not a good blocker at all in college, therefor would not make a good blocker in the NFL, and should certainly be looked at in a TE role, unless he will be put into motion from the FB position every time. Just my observations/opinions. Any other questions, shoot

How is he out of the backfield and how good are his hands?

Hopefully, Henne can get the ball to him.
