Lets just get it out there, the rust of a layoff from resting guys is bull malarkey, if it were such a problem the number 1 and 2 seeds wouldnt want the bye.

6th seed 5th seed. Not in our control! We could go out and beat the pats 55 to zip and gas out every player on the team and still get the 6th seed.....

With this defense already being patchwork why would you risk more injury, and wtf will we do and say when we have clinched a playoff spot 8 years in the waiting and moore gets injured?????? Who fills in that qb spot???

I see so many people talking about pride and beating new England and yada yada..... sit back take a breath and realize week 17 game 16 vs pats means NOTHING!!!!!!!!!

THERE ARE NO TROPHIES OR RINGS FOR BEATING THE PATS IN THE REGULAR SEASON....

Rest rest rest. Literally 2 weeks of rest and boy do we need it!!!

Come out in round 1 and be aggressive and play to win and put it all on the field go for the throat and live with the results....

I have watched this team play not to lose for too long and I must say gase has showed he doesnt play that bs and i love it.

We need to prove NOTHING at our last home game trust me and if you dont just ask the Patriots last year.

The Goal of all 32 teams in nfl is win the superbowl.

Week 17 meaningless game does not fit that goal

Circumstances that happened this week have made the difference between the 5 and 6 seed huge. You play to win this Sunday.
 
Wrong....an established powerhouse can get away sometimes with laying down...we are not that.

This team needs to maintain their momentum and winning ways...not getting creamed to end the season and slamming the confidence.

Couldn't disagree with you more...we also have a legit shot at the 5th seed...which would make our playoff road much easier.

You play to win and leave nothing on the field.

Exactly...I mean, obviously you monitor your starters and keep a close eye on people this week in practice. You have to keep these guys hungry and this roster focused...they are young and the next man up mentality is working and resignates with these guys; can't break that mo jo...If we are winning by 3 or more possessions at half-time, then you can start considering playing back-ups more...but to agree with Dolphins512, letting them think this game is not important is the last thing Coach Gase should do...

Oakland is still going to score points. Oakland was always the matchup you wanted in the Divisional round, because they can't play defense.
 
Yes but our win does not control the 5 or 6 seed and you expect kc to lose to sd .. the odds are NOT in our favor

I'm sure they will but they won't have Carr who at times has been magical in the last two minutes of games. McGloin is not going to put the team on his shoulder and win games like Carr did. I see a one and done unless they play the Texans.

You never quit.....ever. As long as there is a chance to improve our position, you do not lay down and give a game away. So because we need another team to lose, we should just fold up and give up? Do you not think that can happen? Teams lose meaningful games in the NFL all the time. Why on earth would anyone give up when there is still a chance.

No we don't but losing guarantees the 6 spot. By winning we at least have a chance at 5 heading into the late games. Gase is going to play to win, guaranteed.
 
Even if Gase wanted to "rest" our starters, we can only dress 45 guys on game day. Lots of the starters would have to play anyway. Now do we want those starters out there with some back ups? I can't see Gase resting anyone unless they're hurt. If he goes down he's going to do it swinging. Now depending on how the game is going I'd give our back ups some playing time. Drake, Carroo and Grant come to mind first on offense but we've been down before only to come back and win so when do you pull some of your starters?

Guess we just see what gase does. Not once did i say lay down , but rest the starters and see which gems will show up from 2nd and 3rd strings
