Onterrio Smith gets Cut....

interesting but why would we want a guy who got cut by a team in the cfl? id rather try and get bennet if a deal is still out there

edit- no disrespect to cfl fans but just an honest input

Probally wasnt giving it his all out there....funny thing is he is the type of runner I would expect to do good in the CFL

He probably never plays pro football again after this embarassment.

Check out freewebs.com/nflnewsandrumors. We have all the latest on the newswire and rumors surrounding the NFL happenings.

Yes, he is still banned. I believe he can apply for reinstatement in October.

:shakeno:

And soon follows RW, as the Canadian D has been just too much for him as of yet.

don't start with the ecuses...most of the excuses were saying he'd go for 200 yards and 5 TDs in his first CFL game.

I dont think its that these guys cant run through a CFL defense

I think the problem is they need to realize the best way through an NFL defense isnt the same as through a CFL defense, and they need to bring out the part of their game they wouldnt use in the NFL

Well for instance a guy may rely more on running with power in the NFL, that doesnt mean he cant bounce it outside, it just means thats the easiest way in the NFL for him to get yards, in the CFL that same guy may need to use the different parts of his game.

Problem with NFL RBs in the CFL is that they are going into the season with no off season training. In Rickys case he has not had the chance to work him self into season form. You can say what you want about the CFL Defense but a professional who is prepared is better then one who is unprepared no matter what the league. You could bet money that Ricky will rush for alot of yards in the CFL once he is used properly and is adjusted to the new season as well as the new league. You cant think a player is just going to show up and run well. RB is a postion that relys alot on rythm and adjustments and takes time to get into a groove or comfort zone.

He isnt ever going to get the amount of carries to get 200 yards a game in the CFL. They dont run... because it is really hard to in the NFL since they punt on 3rd down.

However, he did average over 4ypc yesturday...

I know he was good at oregon but how was he in minnesota.
