Ontraio Smith released... Should the Dolphins pursue

He was denied reentry into the NFL...By the NFL. His career is pretty much over...however...I think the CFL is looking for some talent.

Pursue a player who was denied re-instatement into the league???

Are the Dolphins short on janitors or something??

No. Plus, there are already threads about this. Plus, we promised Sammy Morris there'd be no more FA runners.

Did the Dolphins promise Morris that?

He only came back b/c the 'phins said that he'd be the backup if ricky was suspended.

I think sammy could have a decent year behind RB. When he was the starter in '04 his ypc was 4.0 right? That doesn't sound bad at all to me. He'll be especially effective in short yardage situations.

League has told him he will not be re-instated as he has never learned his lesson.

Plus, let's try not to start a thread every time a running back is available asking if we should pursue them. Not that my asking will stop anything.

Besides the fact that he's ineligible, after the whole Ricky Williams saga do you really think Saban would be crazy enough to go after Smith!???

how can the nfl deny him reentry even after his 1 yr ban?

truthfully, sammy morris is crap, he averaged 4.0 yards per carry because he was effective in short yardage situations. in the case that ronnie gets injured and sammy morris is our our go to guy, well, lets just hope daunte is the qb.. and on the smith bit, he should be reinstated but the dolphins should not go after him.
