Everyone thought Lazor to be the answer at OC, and one of our most important signings, in preseason. I won a bet with a friend in saying that he would not last through the second game without being questioned by this forum. Thanks.

So, after two games, is he still the answer or, just another OC who needs to be replaced?

Honestly I don't like spread offenses period. It makes your defense a little soft because they spent a lot of time practicing against it in camp, and you only get so many full pads practices in camp. But it's still better than Sherman. He has made some questionable play calls that I touched on in the "UNBIASED Tannehill Scouting Report" thread. Like calling a deep pass on 3rd and 25 on your own 20 yard line. Run a draw and punt the ball. Or the throwback screen to Dion Sims who has no YAC ability. It was 1st and 20 so not a bad play call.... if you're throwing it to Charles Clay...

I like the way he tries to create mis-matches, uses the run game etc.

If we had better execution from the QB we wouldn't be asking this question.

Tannehill improves and Lazor will look like a genius.

Lazor's fine. Philbin's the question

Lazor is in complete control of the O, as per his contract. Philbin chose to run out the clock in the first half, which is his right. Everything else is on Lazor.

I think so. Again, our Oline didnt do very well to allow plays to develop.

I still like what I see....motion, lots of movements and getting good matchups. He's had only one questionable play call to this point (the Read Option on 3rd and short) but overall his calls have been solid.

Lazor has been great so far. The real test is once he gets a few games on film and teams have more of a sample to breakdown. His plays work, guys are open. It's the execution that has been the problem.

No dispute on RT having to improve his overall game but, he has been accurate on 75% of his passes on plays called by Lazor. They may not be as accurate as some would like but, still accurate.

i'm very happy...some play calls have been ehh but once they add tempo i think it will all go according to plan..i would like to see some qb sneaks on very short yardage and not always read option where the ball goes so deep...but chip kelly does a lot of that also and against the colts they came up short at times as a result

on the sims play i think you are trying to take advantage of pursuit and to a guy they'd never expect...wasnt much of a fan but i think you run that with clay there they sit on it...then again they kinda were 3 guys waiting on the sims one anyways

get the tight ends in space more if you want to throw some of those wr screens but more than anything work them off of tempo...and add in more rb screens to the gameplan against inside pressure...like philly does

And that was only questionable because the WR or Slot guy or whoever that was that whiffed on the block of the safety couldn't execute his job. he make that block or even slow the guy down and tannehill easily gets the first down if not more.

Yeah, that pressure up the gut was tuff to go anywhere but short, and some of the longer passes called were dropped.

Can I bet on things with your friend too?

The up tempo is useless unless you can move the ball, which we have not proven the ability to do. Otherwise, it's just giving the ball back for opposing teams to make plays. There is no advantage on 3 and outs.

He's a breath of fresh air, makes me hate Sherman even more.
