The coaching staff did a good job coaching up some players. We now have opportunities to acquire some picks.

Matt Roth is a starting quality OLB with a non-stop motor, but we need more out of our strong side OLB. He has the ability to be a DE, so he helps with roster flexibility. Teams with losing records (picks 1 through 10) could use him. I think the front office should shop him for a 3rd or 4th round pick.

David Martin had a good season, and we could afford to downgrade our 2nd tight end. I would take a 4th or 5th for him.
 
i agree with you there...we definitely have players we can use to acquire more picks with...and i hope we dangle those players out there...Samson Satele is another one we can use to get a 2nd for i feel...though if we do trade Satele for a pick...my bro will have to change his screen name on here...STUDSATELE....to something else...
 
Roth could maybe get a 4th. I dont know though. Before the year started everyone said cut him and Martin now were wanting picks for these guys. If they improved that much maybe keep them one more year now that they have a year under them with Sparano. I think Roth could improve again. ANd Martin might get a 6th rounder. And I dont dont think anyone would trade for him. Satele is Ok but would prob at best get a 3rd. If that. But its a good idea to get more picks. Id be open to Trading down from our 1st rounder. Maybe Beck can get us a 6th or 7th. And Wilford could get us a pick in return as well. The Bears love crappy big recievers and the Vikings could use help with Berrian. If Millen was still in Detroit they would give us a 2nd for him prob. Do you guys think Smiley could get us something good in return. Maybe a player for player trade. I just worry about him gettin hurt every year and I think thats 2 yearss with a surgery in a row.
 
David Martin is too crucial a part of our Offense...he is just as untradeable as Fasano.
 
If we could get a 1st for Porter and draft a greg hardy,everett brown or Sintim that would be smart.Porter doesnt have much more in the tank and 1 of these guys would play for us for the next 10+ years.
 
martin i wouldnt mind letting go. i love him, he is great but heynos is there and has lots of potential. i think if you can get a 4 (very unlikey) for martin do it. Roth is good, and i think anything less than a 3rd (which im not asking for because i know it is nuts) will just not equal our talent level in exchange. unless the FO is planning on drafting a OLB early than get roth out of here, for a good price. depth is important.
