What do you think about kay-jay harris?Should he be a backup to ronnie or be on the practice squad?I say he should be a short yardage runner on third down for ronnie because of his size.He is just a flat out tank.

IF Ricky Williams plays this season as expected, KJ would be a good prospect to have on the roster while Ricky serves his 4game suspension and then waived and moved to the PS. We usually carry 5 roster spots for the backfield (RB/FB) so I could envision
1. Brown
2. Gordon
3. Williams
4. Evans
5. Morris/Harris

he should comepete with morris for the final backfield spot, the other goes to practice squad

Harris will have his work cut out for him to even make the roster with Williams, Brown, Gordon, Morris, Minor, Martin and Evans likely already ahead of him.

Beyond his physical gifts, what has he got going for him?

1) Five exhibition games instead of four will give him more oppurtunities to stand out.
2) Williams four game suspension will require us to keep an extra back around until Ricky returns.
3) Brown's possible hold out if his agent demands we wait until the number one pick is signed.
4) The possible desire of the coaching staff to wipe the slate clean and start over with "their guys" which could see us getting rid of some holdover backs.

Thus IF he stays healthy, BIG, BIG IF, he has a shot

Morris is ineligible for the practice squad as is every other back we have except Harris.

no other RBs on our roster are eligible for the practice squad except for Harris. (The others have been in the league too long, or have played in enough regular season games) However, Saban will have to see something from him in order to stay in Miami on the 53 man roster.

Reasoning: Kay Jay will not be available for the practice squad. Some other NFL team will sign him to their active roster to be at worst the #3 guy. Thats how the practice squad is set. They cut down to 53, and anybody who clears waivers can then sign to the PS. If some other team puts in a claim and adds them to their active roster, that player is gone.

huh??? kay jay hasnt shown anything yet but i think when all is said and done kay jay will move in front of gordon i think he will move up behind williams and brown soo here is how i see this

1.williams even though he has been out a year but has experince
2.brown will start till williams gets suspension over
3.harris maybe will have to prove he can take the 3rd spot but think he can from what ive seen of him
4.evans fine with where he is
5.gordon/morris

I really think we're going to see this as our depth chart:
HB (with many of these guys doing time at FB)
Brown
Williams
Harris
Morris/Gordon

FB
Evans

The guy I like least of the bunch is Gordon. I think Saban is going to find that the talk of him being soft wasn't just about that injury he had in St. Louis. I think he's more talented than Morris is, but I favor Morris for the last slot.

I think MIami needs to drop MInor he is horrible. I did not like how he played at all last year. I know he didnt play many games but from what i saw it didnt look like much.

Dude change/dump that avatar...seriously It makes me laugh but the mods arent going to have it.

kay jay has no chance of making the roster sorry. im not trying to bash anyone but it seems like most people on here think every rookie is going to make the roster.
who is going to be a bust. there is no way we are going to hit on everbody.
the only ones i see making it for sure are brown, roth, crowder, and daniels. after that i wouldnt be suprised to see em all cut.

You clearly don't know what this team is dealing with in Harris. The best thing about him is that style-wise, he'll be more of the same when Brown comes out and he goes in.

The fact that he's a UFA means nothing. He has to show Nick what he has to make this team, but he has skills to do that and give this team a nice third (eventually second) option at RB.

It's up to Kay Jay. He has talent enough to contribute to a NFL team. I admit the same goes for Gordon, though.
