After a comeback year in which Ricky Williams became a quality fantasy player again, the Dolphins RB could quickly become worthless. Only a short time after he was the subject of trade rumors that could have led to a boost in value, Williams is now facing a realistic scenario of missing another NFL season.
By now, we all know the facts. Williams reportedly violated the NFL's substance abuse policy for a fourth time, and now could be suspended for the 2006 season. He has already reportedly started an appeals process, and it could be one to three months before the NFL makes a decision on whether he will play or not during the upcoming season.
A victory for Williams is not out of the question, as ex-Dolphins RB J.J. Johnson was able to get a four-game suspension overturned in 2000. Many of those close to Williams have expressed surprise that he failed another test, and Williams reportedly told agent Leigh Steinberg that the test results could not be accurate. According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Steinberg is confident Williams will be cleared, and doesn't believe he has used drugs since he returned to the NFL last season following a one-year retirement and four-game suspension.

I suppose that is one way to look at it. However I don't think thats the case.

So had there been any NEW news regarding the test or is a moot point until the appeals process has run its course?

The details will stay confidential until after the appeal. Unless a Denver radio station catches wind...:tantrum:

Anybody hear if he's back in the states yet? He said because of his appeal he was going to cut his trip short.

Sort of but not really, decisions are more important than ever with no CBA.
