In the beginning i was all against the idea of getting Green. But recently i thought about what kind of QB he is and I do believe he is the perfect QB for our system.

Look at his previous numbers before last season. These were his average season stats over the 4 years previous to the 06 season : 63.2% completions, 4083.5 yds, 24 TDs and 13 INTs. Compare those to Marinos numbers during his 8th, 9th, 10th, and 12th seasons averages (I used 12th only because of his injury in his 11th season). Here is Marino's averages per season over that span: 59.5% 4025 yds, 25TDs, 14 INTs. Similar, I beleive so. Now I am not saying That Green is Marino, But I do recall alot of us always wondering what it would be like to have Marino back in playing shape with this offense and our current defense. I believe Green is the closest we have come yet to having a Marino type Qb.

Lets face it, when Green was healthy, KC didnt lose games because of Green, They lost them because they had no defense.

I can safely say now after studying Greens statistics and seeing what he has done with no defense and no threats at WR, only Gonzalez at TE, and a strong Running Game, I can safely say that I am much more confident in having him as our QB.

And honestly if Green even plays like he did last season, Thats still the best weve seen since Marino.

I've watched Green a lot b/c my best buddy is a Chiefs fan and we watch all the Dolphins and Chiefs game on Sundays.

Green isn't perfect, and he has bad games too. But Green is a better QB than any we've had since Marino. He might only have a season or two left, but by that time Beck should be, hopefully, ready to take over.

I'm very excited for this season.

My only concerns at this time are at the tackle positions and at CB. Hopefully the players can make their transitions to those spots (Carey, Shelton and Allen).

GO PHINS~!

You are forgetting something that he DID have in KC that he is NOT going to have in Miami. One of- if not THE- best O-Lines in the NFL. Even with less than stellar WR talent, if an NFL QB has all day to find a target, someone is going to get open.

How is an immobile, 37 year old QB coming off of a serious injury going to fair, going from a team with a great O-Line to a team hoping to have an average one?

I just flipped through his game stats from the past couple years and I was pleasantly surprised. I looked specifically for his ability vs. 3-4 D teams because of the divisional favoritism towards it. In fact, he's played against NE in 2005 and 2004 and did very well (stat-wise).

I hope this works out.. because I do look damn sharp in my aqua Culpepper jersey. ;-/

I still think Green has a good year or two in him, and I think he is the mostly highly skilled QB we have had since Marino. DC has skills and has had some good years, but Green has always had a more accurate arm, and he seems to make the most out of his receivers. I would rather go with a guy who is overcoming a concussion, then a guy with a blown up knee.

I don't actually think we're hoping to have an average one. I think with the moves on the O-Line and the addition of Satele, we'll actually have a pretty damn good offensive line after a full training camp and some time in the preseason. I say by regular season week 3, our offensive line is a very pleasant surprise. I am not saying they will be what KC had a couple years ago, but, I think they'll protect very well and do an even better job of run blocking. I have all the confidence in the world in the upside of this line. Combine that with Ronnie's 3rd season in an offense that is obviously running back friendly, improved receivers from what Green has ever had, and new speed with Ginn and Booker, and I think when they hit their stride and start hitting on all cylinders, our offense will be pretty exciting to watch.

You hit it. Green has a quick, which will help our young O-line and gets the ball to his playmakers. He doesn't turn the ball over and that is all our D needs to make us a contender.:cooldude:

Actually, KC was having OL problems b/c of injury. Willie Roaf missed about half the games and when he did there was a big difference in their offense.

Green is an experienced vet. He will not force things or make the dumb mistake. Exactly what we need.

Exactly my thoughts. At first I didn't care for Green, but as I did more research as it seemed he would be our QB this year I was pleasantly surprised. I am not getting my hopes up, but this could be a good year.

It's the same with all Cam's choices. I didn't agree, but as I did more homework, the lightbulb came on over my head. I love having a coach that makes me learn.
