Jim Brown walked away from football.
Barry Sanders walked away from football.
Pat Tillman walked away from football.
Rolando McClain. Christian Ballard. The Abdullah Brothers.
the list is long. what it shouldn't be - is indicting.

if Jon Martin has truly walked away from football, consider that his choice will likely have little to do with his fortitude, grit, balls, sissification or otherwise. imo, it would take equal parts of all those for a player to step away from the playing field. regard the person as much as you regard the game; they cannot exist without one another. people change, it's their right and privilege to do so. without justification or explanation.

America's children don't need brow-beating/forced-feeding about gender-classification, they should receive guidance, not rhetoric. that's pretty much what's gotten us into most of what's culturally dysfunctional within the fabric of our nation. historically we've been taught and teach to substitute machismo for maturity; and intolerance for 'sh** happens - deal with it'. we need to be better.

Jonathan Martin has embarrassed the organization.
 
Make a statement: Pay him his remainder of his salary and ask him not to return until noted.
